Can't think it'd be too much fun wheeling a Mk vii (or is that viii?) Jag up there.

Thanks, interesting, brings back memories,my first Hillclimb there was around 1967/68,first year of 'P' plates,i think you only needed Club membership to compete at that time..

I remember Guys in the assembly area and in the crowd with Tweed Jackets,Ties and Wicker Picnic baskets, seemed to be straight out of the 1930/40's.

In the late 1960's,early 1970's,no matter what Clubs were invited there was always a tribe of Bargwana's competing.

I don't know all the cars shown...

But there's Jack Myers' WM with the twin-cam Holden engine, the Citroen Special, a brief shot of the Wheeler Fortune, George Murray in the Austin 7, one of the Bruderlin & Thomas MGs among a lot of MG Specials, not to mention the Goggomobile.

Maybe No 57 is Barry Collerson?

If so, at least partially the Tomlinson MG?

Is the #65 Goggomobil the car of Peter Coleby?

I thought it was, John, but I never saw him look so young!

Frank Hahn in the Jaguar? Is that the right name?

When I get back home I'll see if I can find a report on this event. That crazy car with the sloping bodywork at the back and nothing over the engine intrigues me.

Bruce is the film something you've found in the family archive? Or just net surfing?  Either way good stuff.

I'm beginning to think this could be 3 April 1960 (mild weather by clothing). But Silverdale was almost monthly.

Geoff Thorne was having his first outing in a longtime with new Maserati style nose on the Citroen special.

Luke Kynaston was in a Jaguar Mk5

There was a Go Kart class with 4 running – Paul Samuels ran one with Messerschmidt engine and Ross Jennings ran a Victa kart..

If car 57 is Vince Profilio MG? He was back in action & first time at Silverdale.

Keith Williams ran a Goggomobil.

Is car 12 Gerry Lister's papier mache 'Draugnav' special??

And most convincing for this date is that George Murray almost came to a stop in the Austin special (car 91)

I.thought that moment was just so George Murray...

Something was going wrong, but he was composed and coped with it so well.

A pity about no sound.  A very good piece of film, very clear unlike most.

Some interesting cars as well and some even I know,, the WM  Waggott Holden for one.

Was posted on Facebook - I know nothing of it beyond that.

If the Citroen Special (I thought I recognised it) was running, Dad might have been there on the tools; he helped with the car about then.

Bear in mind, this was a couple of years before I was born.

Several, yes...

I sent the link to Bob Winley, who has a big interest in the Citroen Special and he will no doubt pick various things about the car as it's so clearly shown (No 47) from a number of angles, including a good close-up off the line.

Thanks for the tip, Stephen, about the date, I'll look at that when I get home.

I don't think I've seen a Go kart with handlebars before.
