Autosport reporting it now as well.
Worth noting that the reports also indicate that Breen's co-driver, James Fulton, is unhurt.

His previous co-driver at died in a crash 10 years ago, and now this.
Just awful, although it’s hard to see how you could make rallying much safer.

Goodness; this brought me right back to Michael Park's death in 2005. What awful news.

Serious accidents in rallying (for drivers and co-drivers) nowadays seem to be either a case of a sudden stop against an immovable object (tree, wall, cliff etc.) or a collision with a fence or barrier that intrudes into the cockpit. There are some alleged eyewitness reports on Reddit which suggest that this accident is in the latter category.

Terrible news, RIP Craig. Even with the safest cars imaginable it is just a reminder of what can happen.

Really shocked and saddened by this news. I'm a pretty casual WRC fan, finally caught up with the Rally Sweden highlights last week and was really happy for Breen to see him competitive at the sharp end. Seemed like a very likable person and wasn't afraid to own his mistakes and shortcomings. Felt like he had a lot more to give the WRC, really sad loss.

Attilio Bettega in my case. He'd come back after a bad accident at the Costa Smeralda in 1982.

Wow, shocking.
I haven't been following Rallying at all in recent years, but was surprised/delighted that he was enjoying some level of top level success having been more or less written off (by me at least) for being too much of a habitual crasher in his first ascent into the big show.

Oh man, that's terrible news.
In my mind, anyone who competes in rallying at the very highest level is automatically one of the best drivers in the world. But Craig was among the elite. Second place at the recent Swedish rally...
Not turning into a good year for the rallying community. Ken Block at the start of the year, and now this.
His previous co-driver at died in a crash 10 years ago, and now this.
I thought I could remember that. Bloody hell. Their poor families.
I hope his co-driver gets all the mental support he needs to come to terms with this tragedy.

According to Paul Fraikin famous belgian rally journalist, the car hit a post on the left side.

According to locals, it went through the winsdhield. So Kubica-ish.

It seems it was the most unfortunate and unlucky event. The car hit a wooden fence and a horizontal bar penetrated the cockpit.
Had the car been rolling, this most probably would not have happened.
I will miss Graig, his sense of humour, smile, and Irish accent.
