Very saddened this evening to hear that French Ferrari authority, historian and author Antoine Prunet has died, soon after his wife's passing, which occurred on March 31.

Sad news
I met him several times and it was a pleasure to converse with him. Condolences to his family and friends.

Ferrari Sport et prototypes was literally the first book I ever borrowed from my local library in Brossard, Quebec.
RIP et merci pour tout, M. Prunet

Antoine was an old friend and an excellent historian. He will be much missed by his many friends and the Ferrari world.

This is sad news. When specialty Ferrari books were still rare, his books stood out. He set out the history of both racing as well as street cars. Mentioned chassis numbers, got us to learn the lesser known Ferraristi as well as the names of the Ferrari mechanics who did the hard work.
Both are in my Top Ten Ferrari books:
Ferrari Legend: The Road Cars Ferrari: Sport Racing and Prototype Competition Cars
But also:
Mythos Ferrari (with Peter Vann)
