I admit to being a  V8 addict, the bigger and louder the better!

I have aways enjoyed the few ex CanAm cars in Thundersports etc. and the F5000 cars the Lyons family have run over the ears. You may get annoyed at them always winniig but the cars are superbly turned out.

As I search the 2023 UK Historics calendar the open cockpit V8's seem to have vanished?

None listed at Donington,, none in next weekends Silverstone Thundersports race and none at Brands either. .

Not sure about the Sliverstone Clasic , will there be any V8's there or at other 2023 events please?

I must have missed Judy Lyons' wins but  her son is a very handy driver indeed. As you say F5000/ Can Am cars , once a fairly common sight in UK Historic racing , are as rare as hens' teeth now. Of late I get my V8 fix from Lola T70s and the embarrassment of V8 riches in drag racing , from Street classes up to thundering  Pro Am door slammers and beyond .

There were at Silverstone Classic last year. Dean Forward's McLaren M8 is a spectacular thing.

Early Can-Am and USRRC V8s appear twice a year, at Goodwood.

For DFV powered cars, this weekends Masters Historic at Brands Hatch as good entry, after that you be looking at the Silverstone Festival (aka the Classic) again for the F1's. As for the Big Banger Can-Am Sports cars, again the 2 events already mentioned plus the HSCC Thundersports, tho don't expect to see Jamie Thwaites out with his M8F too much this year. For a totally different event, try the Sywell Classic, held at Sywell Airfield near Northampton in September as that has a great mix of drag cars and historic race cars running all weekend.

Specifically the Whitsun Trophy at the Revival (and to a lesser degree, the Gurney Cup at the MM)

Didn't have a chance to get down to Brands Hatch this weekend for the Masters Historic race weekend, but did get there for the open test day on Friday. Here's my vid from the test day if anyone interested:
