And probably one of the great lost drivers - given that being within a couple of seconds of Clark ten years later would be Grand Prix winning form...
RIP to the ultimate in unknown motor sport heroes.

Sad news - we will be forever grateful that he not only encouraged Jim Clark to race, but helped to perpetuate his memory with the dignity it deserved.

A bunch of Seven owners met at a pub in the Scottish Borders. An elderly gent wandered over , clearly very interested in our cars , a mixture of pre 73 Lotus Sevens and later Caterhams. Nothing unusual - Sevens always attract interest. Except - you guessed - it isn't every day you meet Ian Scott - Watson ....

Sad news of course - as Graham so penetratingly (and fondly) recalls, sometimes sadly daft but a nonetheless wonderful friend for a talented and competitive young sportsman to be guided by, and a true, Scots-blue enthusiast. I did not know him at all well - but he always seemed faultlessly friendly, obliging and helpful. Rest in peace, indeed.
