Has anyone else installed it?

I put it on my PS4 and LOVE it so far.

It is way, way better than F1 2022

- traction is way better - not so snappy, more realistic

- you can actually catch slides (even on my G27, so not a proper wheel)

- short shifting and ridiculous high gears no longer work (they probably adjusted the torque

- braking is quite a bit trickier -  the car feels heavier (which is probably more accurate) and getting trail braking right is really critical. It's a bit hard without having load cell brakes, but you can play with linearity to adjust a bit

- the tracks have marbles off line - feels pretty weird, but I guess it's correct this way

- I have only done a couple of AI races but they seem to be a bit more aware and no longer turning into you

So far it seems like a huge updates.

Anyone else?

I’ve read and seen good things so far. Not had a chance to try it out yet.

I wasn't going to bother after last year's release, which left me feeling cold.

It's really good. But then I don't mind 22 either and most people seem to hate that (it's probably because I'm a wimp and use traction control which negates the issues the game has with traction?) - anyway, it's a clear improvement and much more fun just to drive. I can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed driving a car just for the sake of it in an F1 game.

you can try with no TC in this version. Last year it was super annoying and inconsistent, now it's way more doable.

Braking is a lot harder though :)

Tried it this afternoon on PC via the EA Play trial feature. It looks good but as always I feel the execution is off in places. For example, I fired up the game and just wanted to jump straight into a solo GP to get a feel for the game and where it's at. This proved to be a mission in itself. Eventually I found out how to do it but it really shouldn't be difficult. Stuff seems hidden in menus and sub menus and in areas of the game that aren't obvious. At least to someone who hasn't touched the series for years. Then theres the team radio stuff. I had a sloppy race with some mistakes and a bad result only to be told I'd smashed it in an error free performance. News to me!

I'm sure if I give it more time these issues won't stick out as much. Graphically it looks great and runs really well. And getting into a actual F1 race with the real teams/drivers etc is still an enjoyable experience. Vegas looks stunning.

spot on. Literally 5 min ago I was playing it (post Austria race, duh :)) ) and I couldn't find something in the freaking F1world (what is that?). I've played the series before but they made a bit less F1 oriented and more challenge oriented

I just had an enjoyable 25% distance race at Austria. I set it to be overcast into rain and it was very entertaining. I think I've found my difficulty "sweet spot" where if I really focus and drive well I can start to pull away but if I start making mistakes they're right back on me. I'm using a controller which is surprisingly nice to drive with. My previous track knowledge of the A1 Ring certainly helps. Slightly miffed my pit engineer didn't tell me it was raining but perhaps that's accurate in hind sight.

I led for most of the race but Alonso got me on the last lap due to a couple of errors. Almost got the place back out of the final corner but alas he just pipped me.

On a technical note, I'm spotting some annoying ghosting in replays which I guess is down to DLSS.

Looks like it’ll be worth picking up. Thinking of upgrading to current Gen console first though.

I wish there was a way to import your settings and character from the previous game. It’s a ball ache having to set everything up as I had it last time, every year.

So I’ve been playing a bit this afternoon. The handling model is so much better. I can actually catch a slide when the back steps out, with traction control off, on a controller.

The menus are horrible though. Took me ages to just find single races and time trials.

First thing I did was try Las Vegas and Qatar. Both are quite fun. I’d only ever played Qatar in an old MotoGP game. In an F1 car, it reminds me of Jacarepagua. Really fun track.

Nice to see a few of the dropped tracks are still in the game for a bit of extra variety.

With the update just come in it means I got one day of having Nyck de Vries in the game. Now I wonder how long Daniel Ricciardo will be in it.

In light of recent news, Codemasters/EA will have one less game mode to worry about developing in F1 24 - the MyTeam career mode is redundant

Or maybe you can play it, but you have -$500M in the bank at the start...
