Not really a thread for this part of the forum, but I think this may be a browser-specfic problem, especially if you use Edge. Some explanations and possible solutions on the link below, although it may just be that a simple clearing of your cache, session history and autosport.com cookies will solve it.

Apologies for rant !!

Suddenly starting for me too, and I use Chrome.

The unacceptable aspect is that it does not allow you to select which cookies to allow. The box to select does not open and to progress you have to accept all or "confirm choices" you haven't been allowed to chose. That is surely as illegal as failing to ask you? (this is In Edge)

I'm using Edge and I do get the choice to deselect those I don't want. Also getting the same stuff with other forums. Annoying but not the end of the world

I believe this may solve it for everyone: I don't care about cookies
I've used it for a long time - it started out just as a Firefox extension, but it's now available for all major browsers except Safari. For Safari and others you can add it to adblockers as an extra filter list.
I think it's possible this is only happening for UK users, due to discrepancies between the UK's revised GDPR rules and the EU's, which go back to 2011 and with which we used to conform. The change was supposed to reduce the number of cookie warning popups, but I will merely note that the Culture Secretary at the time of the change was Nadine Dorries ...

Should you not show us a warning pop-up before mentioning Nadine Dorries?

I've suddenly started to get "We care about your privacy" every time I go to a new page. It only happens on this website and it's rather a nuisance. Is it just me?
Posted 08 July 2023 - 23:21
It's something I intermittently run into on Safari. I have to go into Preferences, Privacy, Manage Website Data, search for Autosport and delete all the cookies. Then once I log in again the repetitive prompt disappears. Other browsers will have a similar function. Or just logging out and back into the forum may also work.

Newly started topic merged with one originally started in TNF and now moved here.
Possible solutions above.

Deleting autosport.com cookies did the trick for me. No more pop-ups.
Thanks, it was driving me nuts for the past day

Can someone fix the cookies, please. Why's it doing this!?!?!?!?
Posted 20 November 2023 - 18:36
There is nothing we can do about it from our end. Any problems you are seeing may be caused by conflicts at your end. Have you tried the solutions above? The most obvious is just to clear cache and cookies.

I've cleared the cookies and 2 weeks later it's happening again.
It's only the autosport forum that's doing this. It's definitely something with the website.

If anyone wants to replicate this issue, go into the cookies for forums.autosport.com and delete the eupubconsent-v2 cookie. Then reload the forum and you should be hit with the never disappearing permissions request. This also triggers the following error in the console:
[Error] TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating 'e.gdprApplies')
If you then clear all cookies from forums.autosport.com and grant permission, the issue goes away..... until it comes back. At which point eupubconsent-v2 is missing again.
This may mean something to someone or it may mean nothing but it's as far as my investigation has gone.

Anyone else experiencing this issue again? I cleared my cookies and all but it keeps popping up on Edge.

Yep I’m getting it a lot on safari - clearing cookies sorts it but it comes back after a while. Annoying.
Not sure if you can clear specific cookies on iOS (haven’t looked properly tbh but nothing stands out), which makes it worse as I’ve got to delete all history/cookies across all sites.

It's something in my account. It's not cookies.
I've logged in on the forums on a laptop I've never logged in on before and immediately got the same issue.Extremely annoying.

The issue is gone. I didn't do anything. Hope someone did.

Deleting all autosport.com cookies always works for me when I repeatedly get that pop-up. (Edge)

We (kind of) did. See post 8 above.
Just install the extension and you won't see them. Anywhere!
