Guess teams will bring lots of updates at Imola, almost 3 months after the pre-season tests.

Wasn't the Ramadan issue supposed to be solved by simply moving Australia back to the opening slot and Bahrain and Saudi to a bit later in the season? I guess not...

Which tracks will be the sprint-victims?

I wonder if qualy will be on a friday for those two middle east saturday races or earlier on the same saturday? Las Vegas we already know it will be friday due to time difference.

Also did they mention sprint races? Or does that come later?

Will be amusing as they try to squeeze 24 gps into one year once again, maybe this time they will actually get there...

You don't like the calendar, racing on Saturday or Ramadan?

So the Japanese GP for the first time before the summer break, makes sense given the schedule.

Too many races, of course.

Saturday doesn’t bother me, in fact it might work well.

The racing on saturday. Also wonder if that will mean Qualy on Friday? The weekend does start on thursday, so I guess so.

I have nothing against the Ramadan! :)

Enormous calendar. Saturday races work better for me personally.

And sorry but Vegas-Qatar-Abu Dhabi sounds like a rubbish run-in.

Sorry, F1, but there's nothing "sustainable" about Shanghai/Miami/Imola/Monaco/Montreal/Barcelona...

Well they did say they are trying their best, but it can never be perfect, due to contractual agreements, availability of circuits, weather concerns etc.

I've removed something from this thread that was a copy paste job from a racing news website. Please don't do this!

That calendar is a result of there being far too many places wanting to hold grand prixs and not enough time in a year to realistically do it.

The travelling shop floor staff must be knackered just looking at that calendar!

Never knew Spa had a deal past 2023. That’s decent, wonder how long the latest one is for.

Can see the “early Japan” rumour was correct too.

I don't mind Saturdays - especially as it's those crappy events - but I can sense anger coming in here when they schedule the first qualifying session of the season for 5PM on Friday or whatever

Anyway... as said countless times, way too many races, 7-8 too many. And way too spaced out, no calendar should be stretched to December... what's with the Fall break too

So it used to be Middle East 1 - Australia - Asia 1 - Europe 1 - North America 1 - Europe 2 - North America 2 - Europe 3 - Asia 2 - Middle East 2 - North America 3 - South America - North America 4 - Middle East 3

Now it's Middle East 1- Australia - Asia 1 - North America 1 - Europe 1 - North America 2 - Europe 2 - Asia 2 - North America 3 - South America - North America 4 - Middle East 2. I guess that's marginally better.

I think they’ve managed to schedule the races quite well, personally. But yes, Monaco-Montreal-Barcelona is an odd one.

Going to be strange watching Suzuka in early April. The 94 Pacific GP was held in April but that was a year or so before I started watching.

Mostly contractual agreements. It's no secret that Canada has a hard date for June every year. Monaco also has this as well. Same goes for Bahrain having paid to be the season opener for another X amount of times. And Abu Dhabi being the season closing race. Fiddle a sustainable calendar around that, is already meaningless. I remember Carey once saying in an interview that newly signed contracts will take regionalization into account. But they can't break open old ones.

Maybe they are planning to have 3 standalone F1 Sprints ™ inside that second break, all in Saudi. I mean why not

Well... in theory the calendar is 24, but you could just say it's 21 once you get China out of the way for it's usual cancellation + the last two desert races are non-events as Verstappen has already clinched the title 9 races beforehand and they're awful locations anyway.

How they can use the word 'sustainable', then release this, is laughable.

F1 ... environmentally-friendly? LOL. Give me 6-8 fewer races and 4-6 more cylinders, with alternative fuels.

The calendar is loooooo wait ong.

December racing is odd but then again, was watching football in December last year.

But racing on Saturdays, I don't like it. Sats are the days when you have to get **** done, that you couldn't do in the week, whereas Sundays are the chill days.

Make Hockenheim great again.

It's a shame that an automotive nation like Germany can't afford it, whilst we race in Azerbaijan....

And Mexico, too. On Dia de Muertos or the last Sunday before it.

Am actually really looking forward to seeing a race in China again. Of the modern tracks that we are not racing on this season... China, Malaysia, Turkey and Japan (Fuji) are the ones I would love to see races for.

I quite like some of the reshuffles. Getting Suzuka early in the season is great. But I could do without the Sportswash races in the countries with no real heritage. Remove those and you’d get a very good calendar.

Its so busy I know I’ll miss a few races, just like I’m missing some this year.

The extra Saturday races do not bother me as it is out of religious reasoning. I find that quite sensible by F1 to do it like that.
What I do dislike is a Saturday race for the purpose of marketing and novelty alone. Looking at you Vegas.

The Vegas schedule makes perfect sense for us on this side of the Atlantic though. This is the only way a night race at Vegas time zone is watchable for Europeans.

Not great for us actually in the U.S. though. Or South America, where it's even worse.

Funnily enough I think the opposite. Pandering to the religious isn’t as acceptable as making a race work from a commercial point of view.

Yet you said yourself that in the olden days the British Grand Prix was held on saturday due to religious consideration.
I don't see the issue, to be fair. Not then and not now. But only if it is out of said religious consideration. Because that had meaningful ground. From a commercial point it is only for the money, nothing else.

Pencilling in the races I don’t care about to try and save the weekends for the ones I do. Absolutely no way I’m making all those, ridiculously overlong calendar.

Perhaps they didn't offer enough money.
