It's a Surprise Silverstone Sunday with two McLarens backing up a lone Red Bull on pole position.

Verstappen is likely to streak clear, but there should be an almighty battle for the two remaining podium places between Norris, Piastri, Leclerc, Sainz, Russell, Hamilton, Alonso and Perez.

Elsewhere, Albon will try to hang on to a precious point, or two, with the usual midfield cabal in behind. The race starts in 2 hours 30 minutes (1500 BST, 1600 CEST).

Fingers and toes crossed hoping that Mclaren carries their Q pace into the race.

I am pessimistic, but it would be great if we have uninterrupted great race and Macca manage to challenge Max for the win.

While I wish the McLaren drivers bon speed, that livery is terrible. As was the 'triple crown' livery and the normal livery.

It seems like very few colours go with orange but McLaren are going to try anyway.

I like this livery, the triple crown one not so much.

The Mclaren was so pretty in Carlos Sainz days, now it’s just plainly awful. They may be getting money from sponsors like Google, but the car is ugly as hell

Would be great but unfortunately there's no chance of that :well:

Erm, for the person doubting about the verstappen dnf a reminder as a certain not longer with us person once said anything can happen in formula one (might cue huge cheers if that happens)

Surprised to see Pirelli predict a 2 stop, after last year's easy 1 stop (pre-SC).

1227BST: In recognition of current developments & modelling, the shower risk has been modified in FIA guidance to 40% 3pm (race start), 60% 4pm, 20% 5pm. Final official assessment of risk will be issued by FIA forecast team 15mins before race start.

Maybe increase in tyre pressures and cornering speeds has something to do with this?

Also, Pirelli suggests that SMS is the quickest option, but nobody has saved any softs, so I guess everyone will start on Mediums.

@fergieweather

1400BST: 1hr before race start, air temp is 22.3C & the track 36.7C. Wind gusts to 25mph recently as it turns breezier. A few showers are between 15 to 25km SW/WSW of circuit, all of which currently look set to miss it to the west.

Somehow I have a gut feeling that McLaren fans will be disappointed at the end of the race.
But it would make for a great race if they do manage to upset the usual order in the race as well.

Oh Christ. Forty-five minutes to lights out with Oscar starting on P3 and now England 5 down in their run-chase with Stokes out. I may expire of nerves before the lights go out

While it would be great to see McLaren winning today, due to the behavior of some 'fans' I still prefer VER to win todays race. Would also enjoy Sir HAM winning the Dutch GP... :p

You CAN start on a set of softs with one run in Q on them.

Of course, but on such a high energy track this is less than ideal.

According to Marko, he drove over a piece of a debris. It's reparable though.

Big rain showers coming out up from
the south west, but seems like they might just miss the circuit.

Why is it always the talentless celebrities that always disrespect Brundle.
