I think Colin Turkington's day is almost past.  He has long been my favourite, and whilst he can still dish up the goods, it is becoming less and less frequent.  He is now 42, and while BTCC drivers have often soldiered on successfully well into their forties, things have changed and younger drivers are coming through earlier than they used to.

My big disappointment this year (after Colin's slump) was the strange failure of the 'works' Toyotas.  The car is good, as the 'privateer' Toyota team showed, and although more reliable this year, they still seemed to lack pace.

I quite like Colin and I think he’s good for the brand. I think he’s got a drive at WSR so long as he still wants it.

Colin’s day as the conquering champion may be passed, but he’s still very much a front runner and hardly the worst driver to sit in a WSR BMW lately. Don’t see any reason for him to lose his seat on current form.
