7 drivers in talks for Andretti alongside Jake Dennis and in place of André Lotterer: Robin Frijns, Sam Bird, Oliver Rowland, Norman Nato, Maximilian Günther, Nyck de Vries, Lucas di Grassi

https://the-race.com...ikely-champion/

Envision with Buemi and perhaps Robin Frijns (as Nick Cassidy goes to Jaguar), Maximilian Günther, Jack Aitken

https://the-race.com...y-vacated-seat/

Maserati with Mortara and Günther, De Vries or Felipe Drugovich

https://the-race.com...la-e-race-seat/

Nissan and Nato will part ways with either Rowland or De Vries will come.

https://the-race.com...ies-or-rowland/

Mahindra perhaps with Lucas di Grassi, Jehan Daruvala or Jordan King. Roberto Merhi unlikely to stay.

Silly season yeah!

Think Bird in Mclaren could work well, his experience could help the team making a step forward in the races

Oh that's a surprise.

Van Der Linde is a sure lock for that vacant Abt seat, after all he didn't perform too badly in his subbing outings this year.

I'm tabbing either Gunther or de Vries for that 2nd Andretti seat.

I'd take Gunther. De Vries FE title by his own admission was a bit 'random' and he wasn't so good the following year. Gunther also has experience with the Gen3 car in his favour.

A bit like Vandoorne this year. Some sort of Mercedes champion curse.

The prodigal son returns...

Though I think that, with Buemi in one seat, I might have gone for a higher risk/reward option in the other.

Günther's chief weakness over the years has been his propensity to win or make the podium one weekend and then crash the next two or three.

This season started off along the same vein, but since Berlin he's actually been a lot more consistent that in his previous seasons. In that time he's pulled off a win, three third places, three sixth places and only one retirement.

I've always thought that he had enough raw speed/talent to be a potential leading and in-demand driver... if the required consistency could be coaxed out of him. If I was a team principle I'd actually be looking on him favourably for a seat next season, and even more so if he can continue his run and score solid points in the London finale.

Nio333 likely to stay with Dan Ticktum and Sergio Sette Câmara. Daniil Kvyat had negotations with that team as well.

Or even sooner. A few years ago, Venturi announced that Massa had left the team before he'd even returned to the pits at the end of the race!

That makes his already baffling switch even more pointless. Or was the nostalgy over their past success more important than common sense?

Dennis-Drugovich would be quite an insane lineup for Andretti

I saw some mention of Vettel to replace Frijns. That would've been a bit surprising to put it mildly.

He might be, but I think he's more likely looking for a solid drive right now, and Formula E definitely offers him that.

The biggest issue for me, right now is Nissan.  I am honestly not sure that Rowland or De Vries really bring much more than Nato does to the table.  Rowland especially.  Both might be more explosive drivers, but I don't think that is something which will bring home the points in Gen3 FE, while strategic pace and thinking on your feet does.  When you already have Fenestraz in one seat able to deliver the spectacular, I think Nato honestly was the better choice in the other seat, unless either Rowland or De Vries somehow offer much more in terms of software development/set-up.

Nato's problem was that he wasn't really delivering until after it was announced he wasn't being kept on. His end-of-year form was actually very good.

I saw it too.
Just a rumor at the moment but...who knows.... :smoking:

It's Silly Season after all!

Would be huge for the serie, both on track and from a communication point of view, regarding the most crucial environmental themes.

Vettel has expressed in the past that he wasn't that interested in the cars, but he never sampled a Gen3 machine.  I wonder if a quiet test could change his mind?

Why a backmarker though ? Surely it should be something cooler and faster like Maserati.

Seb is still pretty "young", 36 years old.   (lotterer has 41 and he's still racing in both WEC & FE)
He could spend one season in ABT, seeing how things are & getting comfortable with teh serie, than aiming for a Top Team in Season 11.

Both Nico Muller & the Abt general manager spoke about "going to swizterland to catch up with a driver, very involved with the environment themes"

This seems far from Silly, the Seb-E could be real!!

The other thing to remember with Abt is the name of their sponsor.  They're a VAG placeholder that is using Mahindra motors for 2023 and 2024.  A supple of Porsche motors would be relatively easy to acquire in 2025...

Why not? Stoffel was new to a team JEV was fully embedded in for years. And the 2nd half of the season was actually advantage VDO.

They both started this season with a brand new car, so it's not like JEV had a big advantage of knowledge of the package or something.

Hope it's not a matter of Gen 3 not being really suited for his driving style!

But he was integrated in the team already. The biggest problem this season were the brakes who were all over the place according to Stoffel.

But embedded in the team JEV was. And the 2nd half of the season indicates that VDO has caught up with JEV, so I don't reckon VDO has any problems in terms of suitable driving style.

“Having been with Jaguar TCS Racing since 2016, it was the natural choice to continue our successful partnership together,” said Evans.

“We’ve had some incredible moments over the last seven years and I’m looking forward to writing our next chapter together. I am proud to race for Jaguar and play my part with the team in JLR’s Reimagine strategy”

Evans/Cassidy is going to be a formidable line-up. Dennis/Drugovich would be too, and Vergne/Vandoorne is already, assuming DS can bring itself back towards the front next year.
