Currently the (usually) best format for images on the web is .webp as they are superior to both jpeg and png in terms of both versatility and quality/size ratio. Yet they are not allowed in these forums. They should be.

I'm trying to post from my clipboard (OSX), and get the you are not allowed to use this file extension error when trying to post. What image types are OK?
So I found the old thread on image posting, you have to use a webhost like photobucket.OK
