Something to do for 2 minutes!

Indy 500 dominates the season much like Bathurst or Le Mans, but what about the other events? Check the poll.

Road America, because it’s the Indycar version of Spa, only good.

I have a fondness for the tracks I've been to, Road America, Barber, and Mid-Ohio, and the Iowa double header.  The street races are generally something I watch but are not my favorites.  Breaking it down much further is like trying to pick a favorite child.

Laguna Seca is my special favourite in Indycar Racing. Ironically because I started watching CART in 1996, the Indy 500 was never really part of my Indycar experience for many years.

I have a fondness for all the CART tracks that we still see on the calendar. Not counting St Pete because 2003 alone isn't enough. Those are the ones I really want to see year in, year out.

There really aren't any duds on the schedule.  I wouldn't wanna miss any of them, even going to IndyRoad twice is fine by me.

Next question, which new/return events would you LIKE to see?

As a whole prestigious event, I'd go for Long Beach but then my soul wouldn't let me not vote for Laguna Seca.

Laguna Seca, Long Beach and Toronto are my absolute favorites, chased by Barber. Mid-Ohio and Road America.

We need waaaaay more ovals. Gateway, Iowa and Texas can't hold it on their own. I'd add Milwaukee, Michigan, maybe a sneaky Cleveland or Kentucky.

I'd vote for Long Beach if it would be the finale. It's too early in the season and gets kinda forgotten due to hype of other series starting the rev up in early Spring.

Road America, Barber + other traditional road courses, and short ovals, Long Beach for tradition.

I like all the tracks apart from the Indy road course. Does nothing for me.

I honestly think there isn't a track amongst them that I don't look forward to - although the second Indy RC probably is the one that I am not as hyped about because it we've been there already in the season (and McLaughlin just doesn't seem to gell with it for some reason :p :( )

If Texas keeps producing races like this year's then that is probably the one I most look forward to

This, although i selfishly voted for Toronto because that's the one i can travel to with one transfer from a subway train to a streetcar...

Indianapolis stands so far above the others, the remainder look and are presented like amateur hour events these days, IMO. Indianapolis 2023, with the bs red flag situations, didn't impress much this year either. A hollow win if I ever saw one.

Hope Roger Penske's relieved no one ticked the "None of the current events should stay" option.

Brands Hatch, of course. I take it extremely personally that they haven't visited for twenty years. And it's a quality circuit, belonging in the same series as Road America and other "proper" tracks.

It seems to fluctuate from year to year, sometimes it's easily the most eventful event of the year, then the next time dull borefest. With semi empty stands

But it's needed because you can't have Indy as the only big oval all year

I'm not particularly fond of the track at Long Beach but having an IndyCar/IMSA doubleheader makes it one of the best weekends in motorsports, just below the Indy 500 (or Daytona/Sebring/Petit in IMSA).

The other doubleheader, IndyCar and NASCAR on IMS road course doesn't do it for me. Firstly, IndyCar is too much of a support series in that one. Secondly, I'd like to see an IndyCar/NASCAR doubleheader on an oval. And thirdly, IndyCar belongs to the oval, not the road course at IMS.

Also, the rarity of open-wheel racing on ovals makes all IndyCar's oval races ones I'm looking forward to.

An honorable mention to Toronto, the only race outside the USA. Really wish there were more international races in the schedule.

Texas having more votes than Long Beach is a surprise to me given how maligned the event always seems to be.

But yes, we need Texas and at least one more track where the series can use the super-speedway configuration. The thought of an IndyCar/NASCAR double-header on an oval is hilarious to me because one series is going to look vastly inferior, and it won’t be the one with the wings…

Long Beach, Barber, Road America

Texas owes a percentage of future gates to Will Power. His "rubbering-in a second groove" suggestion saved their bacon.

In terms of events that should return, CLEVELAND. What a track. The widest track ever, made Sepang look like a county lane, but still constantly seemed to set up clashes and drama. Loved it.

Can't pick a single favourite. There are Several I get excited about. If I was to travel to the states to watch one that wasn't Indy, I think I'd be looking at Iowa or Nashville.

Long Beach has the prestige which I can't help but appreciate, I came around to really like Laguna Seca, but in the end my unoriginal answer has to be Road America. Of course nothing comes close to Indy 500.

The traditional circuits have triumphed, the mid-field is tight, and Indiananapolis road courses have sunken both to the bottom

Texas got 22 out of 51 votes here in favor of staying in the calendar no matter what - and the event was favorite for 5 of these voters - but per 2024 calendar it's now been killed off. Probably for years to come...

I voted for Road America, and answered no to question two.  Got into racing in the 90s, and am not from the midwest.  Sorry...
