Russell was faster the entire weekend on pure pace.
In the race can't really judge tbf cause no one had free air until the last stint
Wasn't that kind of why the comparison was made about the observed pace in the last stint?

Guess they would be usually, but this race was run to a delta almost all race for all drivers. Doesn't that negate any 'real' comparisons'? Taking Leclerc as an example, he was on softs at the first stint, but was staying behind Carlos that was pacing himself. You can hardly conclude anything about Charles' real pace compared to Carlos or any other driver for that matter.

There has also been quite a lot of contact with other cars as well.
Like I mentioned in the Mercedes thread his racecraft is somewhat sloppy and/or indeed indecisive at times
The pass on Perez off track should at the very least have been investigated.
In Basketball those are called makeup calls, for the one with Lando....

Interesting charts
https://f1pace.com/p...e-gp-race-pace/
Interesting, but not saying a lot. Sainz was clearly managing the gap between him and Norris. Meaning he, and I suspect Norris too, should have been able to go faster. Also Hamilton and Russell had pitted out of sequence, making their times indeed a lot faster. Whats more interesting is the pace Verstappen had when he got into clean air and was charging Leclerc. This does not bode well for the ones hoping Red Bull has fallen. Because if this is their worst track, then Suzuka will be a massacre again.

You saw that you can click the chart to zoom and see the lap numbers in there? Hamilton was a lot faster than Russel between lap 46 and 52, but more remarkable Verstappen's pace at the end of the race. Combined with his ability to overtake, I think Sargeant's inability to stay on track robbed us from an even more exciting race finish.

Yeah, but wasn't all that pretty obvious anyway? Hamilton was more than 4 seconds of Russell exiting the pits and up his rear end several laps before the finish. And Max clearing his pursuers and getting up to Charles. So no new revelations really.
Now, this sound negative but please don't take it as these charts really are interesting at some races. Just think they weren't really for this particular one.

The way he has damaged the races of whoever he's overtaking recently makes me doubt that statement.
Really? Is this argument in the same league as the one where people claimed GR was crashing everytime he was racing someone?
LH has overtaken several cars the last 3 GPs without contact in case you didnt notice. Perez on the other hand tried to provoke contact with LH in Singapore and ruined another driver's race

It depends what you are looking for. The "chasing in free air" laps are interesting to me.

2 really, although the Tsunoda one was a lot more 50/50 on blame than punting Albon off.

Can Lewis get P2 in the drivers??
I think yes. He is 43 points behind with seven races to go - and if Perez continues to drive poorly, and Hamilton well, he could easily close that gap.

Easily beaten Hamilton in three of the four races post summer. See no reason why that will change in final 7 races.
It will be interesting to follow both Perez and Leclerc for the next few races. I think both of them are in a mental limbo at the moment.

Leclerc's race in Singapore was absolutely fine. Missed out on pole by less than a tenth, and then was used by the team to back up the pack and then got screwed on a double stacked pit stop followed by PU issues at the very end.
Heck his race in Monza was fine too. Again missed pole by a hair, and was quick in the race.
Leclerc is not actually doing a bad job, unless one takes the default presumption that he should be blowing Sainz away like an Albon-Sargeant situation. That's just not realistic.

Yes, fine races but both times he lost to his team mate. Not much has gone his way this season.

FIA admits Verstappen should have been penalised in F1 Singapore GP
Seems like it's gonna take a long long time before I can change my signature here.
And they wonder why conspiracy theories start?

I’m surprised they admitted it. It was clear bias from the start, if Yuki impeded Max there would be no question, a penalty clear as day.
