LKYSUNZ: Lucky Sons? New joint venture of Lance Stroll and Michael Andretti perhaps?

1 billion. To put a facility in place with all amenities and building the car? Thats scraping the barrel these days, isnt it?

And on a sidenote; great that both the FIA and Liberty are calling for diversity. Only to accept a team that is (at first) Asian oriented (see what I did)?

Glad you made the pun clear, I thought you'd done it by occident.

This reeks of a William Storey-comeback.

Panthera Team Asia, Faye Ho maybe involved? Via Linkedin

The two prominent masterminds behind Panthera are former SMP Racing managing director Benjamin Durand and law firm owner turned amateur GT driver Michel Orts.

Orts and Durand are joined by the co-owner of Somnio yachts Paul Fleming who made his money in banking and properties before moving into yachting in May 2017.

Fleming will retain his roles at Somnio and his private office alongside his commitments as a global board member and CEO at Panthera.

The final key figure at Panthera is chief commercial officer Andrew Pyrah, who has previously been involved in the sport by helping countries secure Grand Prix and broker partnerships with companies wanting to invest in F1.

Seems like Durand has been thinking about F1 for a while now: https://www.autospor...982763/4982763/

I just keep thinking the same things over and over again.

Is it room on the grid? Yes

Can they pay the entry fee? Yes

Can they pay the other teams? Yes

Do they get a legal car built in time? Let's see

Hotel? Trivago

So just let them in.

Imagine if they pay all the money and then fail to make a proper car. Then the existing teams would just get additional one-time payment and no dillution of prize-fund!

I'm fairly confident in saying this will never happen. Especially after the scrutiny a genuine entry like Andretti is going through

At the same time it's all about the money (It's all 'bout the dum dum da da dum dum), and a massive Asian-African colloboration (I do find it curious that a Southeast-Asian team works with African countries for this) have the potential to stick hands and noses in to a place where they haven't really gotten much money from yet.

I think Michael is long removed from the (in today's terms) pittance in earnings that Mario made during his career. Mario isn't financing Andretti Global.

It is a trap. The F1-teams try to get the entry fee up.

FIA rejects three applications for new F1 teams  The FIA has rejected applications from three of the four prospective new Formula 1 teams, with Andretti Global's effort understood to be the sole remaining bidder.
Michael Andretti's operation - whose bid is supported by General Motors brand Cadillac - is the highest-profile contender of those who responded to the FIA's request for submissions to form an 11th F1 team.
FIA Formula 2 outfits Hitech and Rodin Carlin had also submitted applications, along with start-up Asian effort LKYSUNZ.
Although there is still no official information from the governing body concerning which new teams, if any, will be accepted, Autosport's German language sister title Motorsport-Total.com understands that only the Andretti bid has reached the final stage.

You’d think one of the first jobs would be picking a pronounceable name.

Maybe it's meant to mean "Lucky sons"? I have no idea frankly. Sad at the FIA announcement, I really wanted another Rich Energy or Andrea Moda on the grid.

I feel the same way about the proposed Hugo Boss Bulls and am still kinda struggling to understand whether an Aston Martin Honda is an Aston Martin or a Honda.

Checkmate my friend.

Not in the same league but I’m excited for a Cadillac Andretti Alpine-Renault.

Exactly.  This will disappear quicker than it appeared.  Also the name is like one of those idiotic "brands" of cheap Chinese stuff you can buy on Amazon.
