Ads for porn are one thing, but that is truly disgusting.
An ad for Trump coins? Seriously?

Advertising is served by local sub-contractors in North America - while you may find the product objectionable, others may not. And nobody is compelling you to buy them.

So, Autosport subcontractors in Europe also feature bullshit political advertising?
Besides, what kind of answer is that? How about carrying advertising that isn’t objectionable to anyone?

I have absolutely no idea. I use an adblocker by default, but any advertisements served will be targeted and appropriate for the market indicated by the user's IP address. Being in Canada you should not see advertisements targeted for other markets. Not having seen the adverts in question I don't know their origin, but as I understand it, these coins are produced as 'collectors items' by private mints like American Mint, Coins of America etc, who also sell commemoratives featuring other US Presidents like Washington, Kennedy, Obama and Lincoln. So if (say) American Mint buy the ad space it's up to them what they advertise unless the product is illegal - Autosport has no control over that.
Besides, what kind of answer is that? How about carrying advertising that isn’t objectionable to anyone?
Is that a rhetorical question? One man's meat is another man's poison.
I would also point out that some advertising you see on this site may actually be served by your ISP, perhaps based on your browsing history.

Interesting answers.
Otherwise, this coin was definitely not being flogged as a collector’s item, but as a campaign thang.

Ad blockers have been widely and freely available for a long time now - it honestly surprises me when people don't use them, particularly on sites where using an ad blocker doesn't prevent you from accessing the site - like this one...
Really, if you're not using one, it's your own fault for whatever ads you see, I'd argue.

I avoid using Ad blockers on sites I enjoy but if the ads get really annoying like covering content I will.

If it's nothing, please send it to Autosport in support of my subscription, preferably for 5 years.
Thanks in advance.

The point rather seems to being missed here.
Why should we have to invest in adblockers in order to avoid advertisements such as this?

You can’t invest 5 seconds in an ad blocker for something that Autosport doesn’t control?

Pretty sure that it’s stretching things to claim that Autosport has no control over what ads appear alongside its fora.
Apart from that, please clarify what you meant by or rather than “invest 5 seconds in an ad blocker.”

Having direct control over what ads appear would be impractical micro-management to the nth degree. What can or cannot be advertised varies by country - most countries in Europe do not allow advertising for political fundraising for example - therefore the only practical solution is to subcontract it to agencies who will pay a flat fee and recoup it by selling the space on. If you're in (for example) South Africa you won't see adverts targeted for the UK or Australia. My guess - because we really have no input or responsibility for it - would be that the only advertising Autosport sells for itself would be for the UK market. Here's just one demonstration of how difficult it could be to control: Review of alcohol marketing restrictions in seven European countries.
This model is really no different to TV advertising, where a company allots an amount of money to an agency, which places the ads. Over the last couple of years a number of UK companies have come under fire because their agencies have placed ads with the GB News TV channel, apparently without their knowledge. In that case, the controversy is over the policies of the channel, rather than the product, but it does demonstrate how it all works.

"Invest" in something which is completely free to use, to hide adverts you personally find distasteful?
Use one, or don't. But complaining about seeing certain adverts when there are ways and means to avoid seeing them completely seems pretty silly, really...
Autosport is very unlikely to do anything about this, so the choice is yours whether you see the ads or not.

Motorsport Network have end to end control over the ad network impressions over the properties they own. That’s the focal point of the business. There is nothing on the platform that they don’t want. They may contract the infrastructure but the placement is what they do to make a living. They’re in business to sell ads not so much to provide motorsport news.

That’s an argument that I was confronted with at the turn of the century, when I was still in the journalism biz.
My answer to that was and is:
”If all you’re doing is selling ads, then get the fuc8k away from this business and sell dildos, there’s more money in that.”
FWIW, selling dildos is far more useful and infinitely less toxic than minting and flogging coins with the likeness of that repellent grifter in furtherance of his re-election campaign.
Also FWIW, have identified the company doing the minting & flogging and will direct more specifically targeted dissuasions at them.

Yaaaay!
No more ads with his likeness.
