Deserves his own thread, I feel, rather than a "Mentioned in Passing". Left us on Wednesday, three and a half weeks before his 90th birthday...

Going into F1 at a time when motorsport in Germany was on it´s knees with a car and engine built in house without noteworthy support by the German motorsport industry can´t be estimated high enough.
