-Gasly on Hamilton running into the back of his car.

How did Hamilton not get a penalty for this?

Maybe because Gasly lost the back end and came to an effective stop on the racing line while Hamilton was lining up for the 2nd DRS and so was too close to take avoiding action?

I dunno, but I have a different bias to you?

Looking at his steering input, Perez didn't carry too much speed, but deliberately takes a wider line to compromise Norris's exit. As long as he doesn't force Norris off track I think he's entitled to do so. Norris just steers into him while he can clearly see where Perez is. Racing incident for me, but a bit more on Norris than on Perez.

Me view is that all drivers leave room.

Two drivers go towards the apex then the outer car leaves (at least) a car width on the inside.

Two drivers exit the corner together then the inner car leaves (at least) a car width on the outside.

The car that is left room is not entitled to take more.

In this situation, Perez was given plenty of room on the inside but decided he was entitled to take more.  Norris left enough room and shouldn't have been under any requirement to cede his track position.

Disagree. If a car is already in the space, another cannot make a claim to it. The rules state they have to leave at a least a cars width, Checo had that. He entered with too much speed, missed the apex, and understeered into Norris. The collision was all on him. All in the stewards report, and the penalty was correct.

What space does Norris own when they are side by side?
There is no such thing as an obligation to take a specific apex.
You can say Perez went wide or Norris turned into him.
They were both equally entitled.
Perez did not hit a Mclaren that was going straight. norris decided to turn left there.

There’s no such rule, other than when having defended on the straight you can move back to the racing line leaving at least one car width space. I do think this is on Perez though, for the simple reason he understeers into Norris, so is not in control of the line of his car.

Either way, Norris actually gained an advantage, and kept it. So it's a strange decision to penalise Checo for this, especially for some of the genuinely penalty worthy incidents he was involved in this year and got away with.

He owns the space he is actually already occupying. Or do you think it's OK to just barge another car out of the way?

Norris turning left through a left handed corner? I wonder why he “decided” to do that.

I do chuckle how people respond to these situations, every time Lewis Hamilton has contact with another car there is a chorus of "Penalty! 5 seconds is not enough!!" (may I add here, it often is a penalty), but Perez drives into Norris when he has plenty of space and clearly opens the steering wheel and there are comments of "no penalty, nothing to see here!"  Of course, the usual argument it "they're different situations", which they are, but the fact is Perez could easily have made the corner without hitting Norris and didn't, so by the rules it is a penalty surely?

Did he?  Norris entered the corner ahead and ended up ahead.

He doesn’t have to turn in at that moment, does he?
He has a car at least fully alongside there

To me that means he can’t decide I will turn HERE.

Final standings for the No Red Bull Championship.

No-Red-Bull-Full-Season.png

A mere three wins but plenty of consistency gives Lewis Hamilton his fourth non-dominant championship, after 2008, 2017 an 2018. Alonso might have won 6 Grands Prix, but Aston Martin really lost the development race, with poor scores towards the end of the season losing him that championship. Mercedes also win the Constructors' Championship, though Russell went winless all season. An interesting point, Lewis joins that exclusive club of world champions to have been disqualified from a race in their title year.

Seven wins for Ferrari, 5 for Leclerc and a mid season double for Sainz, bring them second in the Constructors' Championship, and Leclerc just beats Lando Norris to 3rd overall. Five wins for Lando and one for Piastri cap off an incredible turn around for the team.

This has been fun, and really injected some interest in the season for me, as the actual title fight was one of the most boring ever.

Come at me Matt!

I think it is pretty poor. He took the idea, the actual work behind it and all the credits.
