@PHortonF1

On Sunday night a team member got thrown in the marina (it happens regularly) and lost a wedding ring.

Now someone in full diving equipment, and an underwater detector, is about to try and find it..  #F1

Now the metal detector has glitched. And there was a misjudgement in throwing a sieve down to the diver so that's sunk too

@PHortonF1
Another dive - no success, but the sieve has been rescued and is in use

Still no luck. Metal detector has now failed for good. One more dive...

@PHortonF1
That's that for the night. The plan is to enlist a couple of locals to help out in the coming days. Fingers crossed...

I hope they find it, my wedding band very, very rarely leave my finger, there is no way it can fall off, how loose a fit would have to be for that to happen?

They didn't mention if the ringfinger was missing as well. Ask Frodo Baggins.

Tbh, if it was a plain gold band, I’d be super tempted to just get a new one and hope the switch wasn’t noticed.

You’d feel such a jerk if you were the one doing the pushing in. I did like the degree of world-weariness in noting that F1 people seemingly get thrown in Yas Marina on the regular.

The glassiness of the water in the first picture makes it seem as if they're diving off the planet into the sky.

Or he could get a new wife. There are plenty out there.

Maybe was in a chain around neck because not good on finger in job person has?

Regardless of 'just' being a gold band it would be THE Gold band, most if not all stuff can be replaced at cost, for something like this the emotional value is very, very high though so if not found there is only one way forward, tell the truth.

Examples from real life

1) Older brother had habit of taking ring of, put back on, take of, put back on, take of, put in pocket... Invariably one day it was gone in all the moving it around, he fessed up and no longer carry a wedding band.

2) Wife like most women have a regiment of cream, moistures, salve, hydration, balsam, anti-wrinkle, and what the heck else you can plaster over your body, when ever this procedure is performed she will remove all her rings, one day the ring was gone.... Rather than getting a new replica done she is now wearing my dads wedding band, sized and with a diamond - We like the symbolism of his ring, my mothers name and their wedding date on the inside, meaning they are always there ins some form. She will never, ever, ever lose that ring.

Fingers crossed for a successful diving for rings in Abu Dhabi.

Wife bought a ring 2 sizes too small.
I haven’t been able to remove it for 40 years

The one I bought her was “lost” 12 years into the marriage….

@ChrisMedlandF1

And now it does have a happy ending! Incredibly it has been found this morning and is back in Mercedes’ safe possession. Amazing work by everyone involved
