Congratulations Max Verstappen for his third ever Voting Championship title, and that's three consecutive ones!
Verstappen had the title wrapped up by Qatar already.
Lando Norris makes a new personal best by finishing second overall. His previous best championship finish was third in 2021.
Fernando Alonso finally returns to a season top three after finishing second and third overall many times back in the day, the most previous one having been back in 2013.
Ten different winners is a pretty nice number. The wins stat is the only one where Verstappen isn't completely dominant, as his podium consistency is just outstanding.
Q1-Q4 are season scores divided into four quarters, races distributed 6-5-5-6.

Here's a question that you might not like: Should we keep this voting thing going?

The issue here is that we're down to so few voters nowadays, so it feels like people don't think it's relevant anymore. Most of this season we were down to four voters per race, and that's very little, isn't it.

Posting the threads and calculating the results isn't any problem for me, it doesn't take much effort at all. Doing any sort of campaigning to lure more voters is a whole different issue altogether, especially as I don't have any talent for it other than nagging.

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on this. Other than that, again: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year all!

I remember I used to vote in this. Then I stopped because it annoyed me how people would often ignore performance over the weekend and anything outside drivers' control and simply vote on the basis of final result vs pre-weekend expectations corrected by their like/dislike bias. I also remember one person in 2012 constantly upvoting one driver every time he didn't absolutely suck over a weekend, which resulted in a pretty inflated and undeserved score over a season. I thought it would be healthier for me to ignore this thing altogether rather than waste my nerves annoying over those little injustices.

But as you could see, I came back to vote in this more regularly somewhere late in 2023 because I thought it would be a shame if this tradition collapsed due to a lack of voters. I'm also slightly concerned about the entire RC's Bets & Games as we're down to maybe about 1/3 of the playerbase we used to have when I joined in 2010. Given for how long this thing has been going, it would be a big shame if this all stopped but I have no answer how to reverse the trend of fewer and fewer participants as I have watched several Internet forums collapse over the years due to exodus of active users.

Should we keep this going? If you say posting the threads and calculating the results isn't the problem, then I would hope that you keep this going. There's always hope for a miracle and an influx of at least a few new voters. Once you stop, however, I don't think it'll ever get revived. :(

One idea I have is to mention this thing in the "Your driver ratings" thread if it keeps going next year. Also mention the entire RC's Bets & Games in any thread for predictions etc. I'll do my best to encourage some posters to join any time I see a semi-relevant thread.

However, I'm completely absent from any motorsport spaces outside this one so I will not be able to provide even a small effort to attract some people from other websites.

I think not hosting these games will result in the Racing & Bets Subforum to die a slow death. The other games still have a good amount of players.

Alright, thanks for your input guys! I declare this discussion closed and the result:

Let's give it a go again this season, trying to get the voters up to five or more per race or I think it's time to call it a day at the end of this season. OK?

Why do you never vote yourself, Makarias?

This way you could add one voter easily. :p And it's not like game hosts don't usually participate in their own games here.
