I have a TJ MK2 system with the manual that was my brothers. I want to sell this on behalf of niece but have no idea of value or where best to advertise. I think he told me these may have been fitted to Anglias, Lotus Cortina? Is that correct ? May have been fitted to other cars of that era? I think all of the bits are there plus manual and other info related to setting it up. He told me it was quite rare?

The problem with TJ injection is that it had to be tuned on dyno for each application. That involved setting the fuel cam and the bypass jet "pill" to get good tractability as well as power.

It was fitted to the Lotus 30 and a number of ford 1500/1650 fours used it.

It would be an FIA accepted item for the Lotus 30 but I suspect most other applications would not be acceptable for serious Historric racing so .suggestions

1) Put it on Ebay globally at serious reserve. If an Historic racer wants it they will pay big I am sure.

2) Post this  thread onto the Nostalgia forum where there is amazing expertise on 1960's stuff

If al else fails maybe donate it to a museum as it is significant technically as being a precursor of the very successful Bosch K Jetrontic. K jet was superior because it used air mas metering vs throttle/revs metering for the TJ system

i apologise, I typed before I checked the "literature". This is an extract form an old Nostalgia forum post a an ex TJ engineer. It makes it clear how many cars used TJ

"There is quite a lot of misleading information in this thread. Difficult to know where to start without writing a whole book! I worked for Petrol Injection Ltd from 1963 to 1968 and continued to be involved with them for a few years after that. In 1967 I was the resident engineer at Ford Competitions Department, Boreham and all the Cortinas entered in the 1967 RAC rally were equipped with T-J fuel injection. (The rally was cancelled at the last minute because of the foot and mouth epidemic). All the Lotus 30s, 40s and 47s were equipped with T-J injection from the factory. The Lotus LV220 engines and the LV 240s also used T-J. I remember testing an LV240 engine with Colin Chapman and another guy at Lotus, Wymondham as I developed the fuel cam.

Many racing saloon cars also used T-J including Broadspeed and there were many car manufacturers who had development road cars fitted with the system for evaluation... these included Ford, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Simca, ASA (a spin off of Ferrari) and several others. The system went through many iterations and road kits were available for a large number of makes. A lot of development work went on and many new ideas were patented. Bosch were infringing many of the company's patents and Bosch settled out of court in the early 1970's for a very large sum of money. The company took the money... said thank you very much and then closed its doors."

Thanks for the info, it is really interesting to see the history of some of this stuff. You get some stupid comments on these forums but there are clearly some very knowledgeable and helpfull people out there
