Don Prudhomme in Roland Leong's AA/Fuel Dragster "Hawaiian" won both the Winternationals and Nationals events in 1965. It was the first time these two major titles have been consecutively earned.

We met a Hawaiian guy at a World of Outlaws race in Skagit, Washington of all places, in 2014. He was friends with Roland and with Danny Ongais. With dirt slinging at our heads, suddenly we’re talking about burnouts — and the whole thing was really cool.
RIP, Roland. Good eye on picking Prudhomme.
