I hope we wim the sprint tomorrow. I really really do.

Current forecast seems to be dry and a bit warmer unfortunately.

So, under normal circumstances I'd say the car is out of position. With the weather being better, Im expecting us to go backwards a bit - podium should be ok, but I think we'll get taken for the win.

AFAIR, it was around 0.3 or 0.4 tenths.

He was 1.7 seconds ahead of Lewis and lost half a second in the last two corners.

Lando was in another league compared to others today.

So in his second to last attempt (where he went off), he was around 2s in front of Hamilton before the last corners? Lando is something else in these conditions.

On AmuS it was mentioned that Piastri's issue was caused by wheelspin out of the slow corner. Didn't the same happen to Norris in one of the sprint races last year?

He’s amazing on Fridays and Saturdays.

If it's dry it will be a podium but if it  is rainy win will be a cakewalk in the sprint tomorrow.

I think it's just DRS pace, hopefully normal straight pace is ok.

Yea the Macca straight line speed is a bit deceptive as the car doesn’t gain as much with DRS open but usually the difference is not as big in the race, Lando was able to hold off Sainz in Japan despite him having DRS!

Think we have to be very happy with that quali. Especially on a track they didn't think would go to well.

Will the ones in Miami our first upgrades? Zak seemed to be quite positive it's going to unlock some decent performance. Looking forward to it.

When we expect to have a bad race, we get P2, so I can't wait to hear a confident and happy Stella

Lets hope. No reason why we can't win a race this year or 2

I'm worried a bit about bringing updates to a sprint weekend where there is no practise

Last year they got the big upgrade working well in Austria and this year they can change the car after the sprint which helps as well.

Additionally I'm hoping this means that the upgrade is significant enough that we'll see clear improvement on track even if its not yet set up optimally.

Just after the sprint, Lando went on the radio to complain about pace and deg.

Will Joseph just replied: "I've got a few ideas on how to solve it." BINGO.

The car is good (as it is). And it will get much better with the upgrades. 2nd on the WCC is not out of reach. And wins will come sooner rather than later.

Lets not forget that Mercedes also have an update in Miami and Ferrari have a mega update coming for Imola... it's a moving goalpost.

Let's not forget that

1) Mclaren is the only team who has been spot on with all upgrades for a year (except Red Bull).

2) Mercedes are totally lost in this era of cars.

3) Ferrari has been in the last years producing a good car out of the box and then bolting in shotty upgrades.

PS: on a track expected to finish 35 seconds behind a Ferrari, Lando beat a Red Bull.

Ferrari nailed their upgrades last season, their progress got overshadowed by Mclaren, but it was also quite impressive.

Mercedes have basically no idea when their car works and when it does they have no idea why it worked. On and off the track the team looks to be lost in a never ending maze. Ferrari are Mclaren's rivals currently  and  they are not too far away. Hopefully the upcoming upgrade will help them in that task. Ferrari and Mclaren will keep exchanging punches depending upon the suitability of track layouts but i feel Mclaren will be faster than them overall come the final third of the season.

Even though Mclaren had a good development  track record last season, they need to need to up their game even more aggressively if they have any hope of winning a race this season. They  have to be aggressive with their upgrade schedule cos Red Bull aren't standing still.

It would be really cool to hear from the team and see what changes were made to the car between the sprint and the race, because Lando's race pace (and Oscar not too far behind) was incredible. I feared the worst when he lost 1.5 seconds because of th elockup, but he built that whole gap back up on Perez easily.

McLaren needs to understand puzzling “up and down” F1 form - Piastri

Oscar Piastri thinks McLaren needs to better understand why its “up and down” performances in Formula 1 fluctuate so much.

Got to say I need to understand why Oscar's performance is not as exciting as the last season. I can, imagine, that Oscar is a bit frustrated as he is not as quick as Lando, yes he is a very quick, skilled race driver. But you can take just as much as you can at each venue, there is no golden egg somewhere. Get focus, Ferrari does what he does, and it is none of our business.
