OH, MY, WORD!
Exciting time ahead it seems - so which team will it be?
Can't blame him, if he is unhappy with the current situation inside the team.
Ferrari?
Aston or even Merc?

There's a more than reasonable chance he might not go to any other specific team.
Be good to see him doing some consulting at McLaren, from a selfish point of view

According to Amus, Newey wants to leave, because he doesn't want to be shoved away in the RB17 project. Incredible mismanagement if true.

Horner clearly thinks, if the information are correct, that he is king and bigger than anyone else.

Sainz, as I've said elsewhere before, will be WDC 2025.

The RB17 as in the limited edition road car they're buidling? That would be a weird thing to fall out over.

Leaving F1?

He was hanging out with Roger Penske at Imola. But he also has known Penske since his time in Indycar in the 1980s...

I'm sorry the AMuS article can be summarized like this
"Newey is maybe leaving: maybe he was seen in Bologna so he's going to Ferrari, maybe he's staying at his current home and joining Aston Martin or maybe Mercedes is also interested."
Not much concrete info here...

Ferrari: @Racingnews365 also learns that Newey will leave RB at the end of the season. A new offer will now be in preparation in Maranello. Newey has had the opportunity to sign with Ferrari several times in the past, but this time it seems serious.

You don't know what Horner thinks. You don't know if the information is correct. How do you then go on to ridicule the guy?

The article never mentions any sort of source. Just pushes a rumor with no facts behind it.

Rumors make the F1 world go 'round. We speculate what drivers prefer in a car, we speculate about upgrades and what they do, we speculate about what strategists are doing, and we speculate about all the behind-the-scenes personnel moves. Yipee!

It will be interesting to see if he finds success in Ferrari or any other team. Logic says yes but...
Maybe it is for the best that no team has him, so maybe the grid will be more even at the top.

The more speculative the more wrong they were.

In the past that is. Iirc, they had the Horner case quite wrong(?), but I don't want to siff through 200 pages of that topic.

Adrian Newey is 65 years old, the chances of him taking on a new challenge in F1 for a new team is slim, and I would be very surprised if he ended up at Ferrari given how he was treated in Italy when Ayrton Senna died, he must have some nasty memories from the Italian legal system. If he does leave Red Bull I can see him taking on a consultancy role away from the track so he has time to indulge in his other interests. Given that he is 65 I presume RB have a succession plan in place that probably involves Pierre Wache getting promoted.

BBC saying it's true
https://www.bbc.com/...es/cmm3v9ny78eo
Red Bull design chief Adrian Newey is to leave the team in the wake of the controversy involving allegations about team principal Christian Horner.
Newey, regarded as the greatest Formula 1 designer in history, has told Red Bull he wants to move on, BBC Sport has learned.
The 65-year-old has been unsettled by the situation at Red Bull since Horner was accused of sexual harassment and coercive, abusive behaviour by a female employee, which Horner denies.
Red Bull and Newey did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
More to follow.
