it is about the team that Newey built, that has big power, not Newey himself alone. I think this is where the most team owners fail to see, because formula one is very individual oriented. any achievement has to be able to be made by one single person.

now when Newey move to Aston, what will they do? i think Aston will go on built a strong team with Newey and this team will survive longer than Newey’s service.

so this is funny. how come that Dan Fallows and Adrian Newey still now do not even greet each other in the paddock and they are about work together in the same team and the team owner want this engineering team to live longer. how could stroll manage all these?

Fallows would probably leave - maybe back to RBR.

Statement of intent by Aramco. They will be champions by the time that contract runs out.

Fabulous signing there’s some names in that AM setup. Would love a 3rd Fred title.

Honda lost a lot of its intellectual capital after its latest wavering commitment to F1. I very well could see the Honda power unit becoming a bottleneck for AM.

What has been published is misleading. The real work and intellectual capital for the Honda power unit was always done in Japan. What they had in the UK where they lost people was more on the assembly side for the batteries. There is a guy who works at Honda in Japan who occasionally posted on a different forum. He said 2 things. The first was around August of last year when he said the people who worked on the previous power unit were called back. The second was towards the end of the 2023 where he said Honda is not behind the others.

Where did that capital go? RBR?

Red Bull but I think the main stuff is still in Japan.

There's no doubt that Honda lost time for 2026 with their collosal mistake leaving F1

Will be announced on Tuesday

They can't do it any earlier as Adrian is fully occupied playing at racing driver at Goodwood in his E-Type and his GT40.

Nice work if you can get it...

It will be interesting to see if this increases the attractiveness of Aston Martin for top drivers when a seat becomes available. As it stands, we will probably see Fernando there for the next two years but then a vacancy could arise. Will this affect Max's thinking, for example? By the time it becomes an issue, we should know more about how Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari are adapting to the new rules and where McLaren end up too.

Reports from SIlverstone are that a Dutchman is camped in a bivouac tent outside the Aston Martin HQ waiting for Tuesday.

If there is any chance of VER leaving RB he will almost certainly move to Silverstone… he would be a fool not to do that and go to Mercedes for example

I think it is hard to predict which of those is the best option - Mercedes or Aston Martin. He can wait a while before deciding anyway and more evidence might come to the fore concerning who is where with engines and power trains.

If the rumours are correct about Mercedes having a monster of an engine like in 2014, Stroll could hire ten Neweys and they won't be much help.

Newey left Williams because they left him out of driver decisions…. I wonder how many clauses and dowry’s him and EJ have managed to get into the contract, and if a say on drivers is there.

I imagine Adrian and EJ Sat there sketching down more and more crazy demands to see how far they could push Stroll. Must be quite satisfying for Eddie seeing Adrian at ‘Jordan’

That would be extremely funny for two reasons- the amount of money AM spent to lure Newey (and likely many millions more on Cardile and a restructure of their tech dept), and the amount of money Red Bull have spent to lure nearly 200 Merc employees (as boasted by Horner) to work on their Ford badged PU.

Hmm... I don't remember the source, but I read elsewhere Honda lost a lot of key people to RB and were having to rebuild. I also read somewhere that Honda was behind with the battery technology and electrical output.

I can only hope that I'm wrong and that Honda is close to Mercedes.

From what i've heard at Viry RBPT is not expected to be competitive until 2028 when Famin was shopping for engines in early may this year.
