Much briefer than usual because it is happening soon!

They line up like this:

Above all, this is a weekend of reflection and celebration of those missed, and never forgotten

Wanted to post it in the build-up thread, but just saw that a race day thread was created: Drivers were apparently ecstatic with the circuit, and especially Max was very vocal about it:

Today's trophies pay special tribute to Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger on the 30th anniversary of their passing at Imola #F1 #Formula1 #ImolaGP

They're also emblazoned with the names of each winner and podium-sitter in the history of the race. The 2023 space is dedicated to the people of the Emilia-Romagna region after devastating floods meant that the race couldn't go ahead.

Thanks Soph.
I just wanted somewhere to post the antidote to MiamiGP stupidity.

A legend of the present, honouring a legend of the past. Watch as Sebastian Vettel drives Ayrton Senna's 1993 around the historic Imola Circuit #F1 #ImolaGP

Shape of the trophies reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with the Fusilli Jerry. "Million-to-one shot, doc!"

Ferrari are slightly disadvantaged in terms of tyre options, as they bizarrely chose to run mediums yesterday in qualifying.

I know it's a certain one stopper, but a SC or Red Flag after half distance could really expose this weakness.

Whoever is ahead out of Sainz and Piastri will go long and win on a cheap VSC/SC pit stop

Clouds are bubbling up, but looking at forecasts rain has a small chance of coming an hour after the race.

Pit stop time loss last year was a whopping 27.8–29.3 seconds, typically around 28.2–28.4.

What I want to happen is a mixed up race with a tight battle for the lead ending with a win for LeClerc, a podium for Hamilton and points for Albon.

What I expect to happen is the leaders circling around 2 seconds apart, a DRS train in the midfield, Verstappen victory, Hamilton 6th, Albon 14th.

What I do not want to happen is any red flag delay. The football kicks off at 4.

No, I want to see a battle between RB/McLaren/Ferrari until the last corner.

By the way, watching the old McLaren, it's size and proportions seem much more "right" than the current monsters.

Yeah, when I went to the Ferrari museum last year (as this race was rained off) you see a load of the old cars side to side and it was almost shocking how small they looked, having been used to seeing the current boats. But they looked so much more "F1". I really hope F1 delivers on its promise to shrink them somewhat.

Great to see Eddie Swervine there. Bet Ted (‘the tubby fella’ in Irv’s words) is giving him a wide berth this weekend.

These children are less scary than those that sung Azerbaijan's anthem on their first race.

That's because the Italian anthem is a happy song.

This race is either going to be fantastic or incredibly dull I feel. Hopefully the drivers go for it rather than fall into tyre management mode, sadly I feel it might be the latter though.

Every time I hear the Italian anthem I just remember Schumi with a big grin conducting his mechanics. Iconic.
