There was a pretty good technical article from Federico Albano in Formula Passion a couple of weeks ago. The most important part of it is that Red Bull seems to be better under accelaration from a low speed, particularly in the race to the first corner:

Potenza in fase di lancio: l'analisi che conferma l'anomalia Red Bull - Analisi Tecnica - Formula 1 (formulapassion.it) (in italiano)

I numeri però mostrano, in maniera praticamene inequivocabile, un netto predominio di Verstappen e della RB20 in questa disciplina che consiste di fatto in una “drag race” dal traguardo alla prima curva

Translation: The data shows however, in an almost unequivocal way, a clear dominance from Verstappen and the RB20 in this sport that consists of having a 'drag race' into the first corner.

So I'm expecting Vertsappen to be leading at the exit of the Senna Curve and into Turn 3.

It's very much inevitable

But to be fair, that's the only thing today I know for sure is going to happen, the rest is still mystery, which is good

Man... If you expect that George Russell will forfit the pole into second corner just like that, I'm not sure you have been following the sport that long. Russell can risk it all, Max has the championship on his mind.

George has been aggressive with Max before. As long as Ver is only alongside, I think we will see some huge elbows thrown.

Looking forward to George v Max, we had a few tasters in Hungary & Brazil 22 and Aus 23 but nothing prolonged.

Well if it's a safety car start, which is probably will be if there's even a drop of rain on the circuit, we don't have to worry about the elbows

Even if it's a dry race I hope we get some rain ahead of race to get rid of some of the rubber that's been laid down. Will make it a great challenge.

It's currently raining at the track so at very least all rubber will be washed away. But looks like theres going to be showers, sometimes thundery showers through the whole day so I'd be pretty surprised if we get a dry race now.

I don’t see Russell as a real threat to win the race so how his approach to racing Max affects the McLaren-Red Bull battle will be the crucial thing today. Max starts ahead of the cars that can challenge him for the win, so he really just needs to repel any ‘elbows’ without compromising himself. He can afford to be a bit cautious I think, and probably needs to be because Russell can be rather aggressive in this kind of situation. If he forces Max wide or makes contact with him then that opens the for McLaren nicely.

What would the weather be like?

Ideal would be that half of the field would be on slicks and other on inters.

The Porsches will be racing (well, hopefully racing) in few minutes so you can check the weather conditions yourself from the link I provided above.

Russel and Verstappen collision has to be quite high.

A four way race for the win between Norris, Piastri, Ricciardo and Alonso would be salivating.

Without rain, that AM wont finish higher than where it is. My bet is one of McLaren takes advantage of tussle ahead and should they (RUS VER) make contact or in event of SC dont capitalize, Norris or Piastri are gonna jump them.

As I see it this is going to either be a Max walkover or a classic.

Grid is set up nicely. Suspect Hamilton will be quick, but unlikely to get by Alonso and Ricciardo easily.

I think Norris is in the best position. Russell will probably struggle out front and hold up Verstappen. Lando can simply hold back and let the race come to him, like Miami.

If it rains, then Verstappen will take it easy. The intermediate tyre raises the ride height slightly, which along with the usual wet weather practice of avoiding kerbs, will completely banish the weaknesses that have plagued Red Bull in the dry.

I'm not sure I appreciate the "hehe"? If Max isn't thinking about the long game, then what is he thinking about? He said he doesn't care about the records, and I take him to be pretty honest with everything that's going on. Also, with regards of the "25 years or so"... Age or in this case the length of being involved in a sport is no guarantee of wisdom, no?

If you say to a person "I'm not sure you have been following the sport that long" how is one supposed to respond then?

Red flag more likely. Remember, in F1 they always wait until it's dry enough for inters.

If the top 2 crash and then Mclaren takes 1-2 they are likely to run away from the field.

RB and AM can't compete with Mclaren on race pace.

Lets pause a second to realize the top 15 being within 1 second of eachother (fastest individual times) and Perez not even making that. What a clown.

I feel like there are some that haven't watched top level motorsport before 2010 or so. This is a standard wet race we're seeing with the Porsche Supercup. Sadly, I don't hold out much hope that the FIA will let the poor, vulnerable boys of Formula 1 out to play at the moment.

Can I just say that it feels weird listening to John Hindhaugh and Shea Adam doing commentary for a race on an F1 weekend, particularly while Le Mans test day is going on and Le Mans is less than a week away

Edit - Not forgetting they were at the Nurburgring 24hrs last weekend too

Since the year 1995, the polesitter only lost the lead into T1 in Canada 3 times. 3 times in 25 grid starts.  The circuit favors pole due to the inside lane and first corner geometry.  Another circuit like this is Monaco. In those 3 events where pole lost the lead, they bogged down at the start and lost multiple positions.
