Yesterday and this morning I made several attempts to put a fresh post on the Places and People... thread...

I've tried many ways to do it, in the simple 'Reply to this topic' box at the bottom of the page, via 'More Reply options', going from the simple box to 'Advanced' and trying 'Preview post'. It all ends with 'saving post' coming up (and staying there, even overnight) or with the red dots bouncing about for a moment and then ceasing.

I even tried truncating the post's size in case it was too large, no difference.

Any idea what's happening?

Everything else seems fine. I've posted on other threads in that time.

Have you attracted the ire of interlocutors, and thus intervention from Moderators?

No traces of disciplinary action on Ray's account from what I can see. Which browser are you using? Any extensions you've added recently? The board software is quite old at this stage so there's no telling how modern content blockers or browser add-ons will handle what they might consider to be deprecated code.

Ray it might be worth PMing one of us a copy of the post you're trying to make on the Places and People thread. You can clearly post in other threads and I can post in the Places and People thread, so perhaps the forum is having an issue with the specifics of what you're trying to post.

Okay, I'll try that...

For the sake of the others, I'm using Firefox, it did just do an update. I don't know of any extensions which might have been added.

No moderators have been in touch with me.

Okay, I tried to PM it, that and it didn't work.

I then truncated it down to about a quarter of the size, that didn't work.

Then I cancelled and tried another PM about it and that wouldn't go!

Can you please send me your e.mail (see mine below) and we'll try it that way?

Presumably you're talking of a post later than 01:18 on 15th June? The wording of your post suggests not. i'm seeing a post that you made with that date stamp and did so yesterday also. The post is so long though, with many pics, I'm amazed that it did upload.

No, that's not the post, in fact I re-posted that one when I found an error in it...

And it can't be the length as I truncated it and tried to post at just half the length.

Each of these posts are first typed up as a Word file then copied and pasted, KWSN. I've just tried a copy and paste to Notepad and then copy from Notepad to the reply box and same result... nothing.

Okay, I now have it posted...

Copied it to the Notepad file then posted about a third of it, no problems.

Then I edited in further sections until it was all done. But there was one section which failed to go in, I think it might have had a quote which wasn't closed off.

Thank you gentlemen, we'll see how the next one goes.
