Is that the usual Sam Smith clickbait or something big coming driver market wise?

"Far reaching consequences for the rest of Gen 3"

Mmm.

It looks as if it may just be the confirmation that Muller is now a Porsche factory driver.

I think Bird is confirmed at McLaren.

We're just waiting for the second McLaren, the second Nissan, the second Abt-Lola, and both ERTs i believe.

I guess the 'nailed on' one is confirmation of Max G at DS Penske, the other also likely will be the second Nissan or McLaren and the total rookie will be Tim Tramnitz at Abt.

Is the second McLaren nailed on for Tyler Barnard? Or is there any chance of T Pourchaire?

Why?  He's done nothing in F2, and nothing in his outings in FE...

He started three races in FE and scored points in two of them, that's no mean feat with very short practice sessions!

Plus he's in one of the worst teams on the grid in F2, and made the most of his opportunity to win a race there. He's also one of the very few drivers that showed any threat to Kimi Antonelli in recent years.

Well deserved, I think. He outperformed Hughes during his cameo. On the other hand, he looks ridiculously young, so I am outraged.

Whaaat? He is one of the most exciting junior talents next to Antonelli   F2 is completely irrelevant nowadays.

He did great in the few occasions we saw him, outpacing Hughes on occasion despite lack of experience and keeping it clean.

Also he pulled off some great overakings in Berlin!

I think he's a great talent and i'm excited to see him as a full time driver!

Also, the more young prospects in FE, the better!

OK, you have me convinced!

I agree he looks like a 12-year old, though!

Happy Barnard!

Seat fitting at Mclaren!

Who will be the next driver announced?
Still seats up for the grabs in Nissan, ERT and ABT Cupra!

*Abt Lola, pretty sure they won't be Cupra any more.

Yeah, the Cupra relationship seems very much over.  I think the Nissan seats are filled, pending a sudden change of heart, but ERT is very much waiting on a lot of things, probably

Abt Cupra gets a big technical director!

https://www.the-race...f1-super-aguri/

Also, more about the mysterious second driver.

"Abt will confirm a second driver to join di Grassi in the coming weeks. It is possible that Formula E's most experienced driver, who has raced in all bar one E-Prix since 2014, will be paired with a rookie for the 2024-25 campaign"

The Race understands that Dan Ticktum and Sacha Fenestraz had talks with the Abt team last month but that a driver without experience is being favoured and is close to signing for the team.

Formula 3 racer and Red Bull junior Tim Tramnitz - who has tested for the team occasionally - is not expected to be that new Abt driver"

Who could be that driver with no FE experience close to sign?   :smoking:  :smoking:

Glad to hear it's not Dick Tantrum.  Let's hope for someone exciting.  I would have said Robert Shwartzman, but I'd rather have him do IndyCar with PREMA.

I stumbled upon this recently, and completely forgot that FE had a Moscow venue in season one. It feels like forever ago. This is also Justin Wilson's only series appearance.

Fenestraz out of Nissan: https://www.the-race...fenestraz-nato/

Ouch!

From wonder boy of Formula E to seat-less in the space of two seasons.

Can totally see Nato managing to grab a last minute seat for the, like, 4th season in a row?

Not basing this on any news, but Nissan could do worse than admitting they got rid of the wrong guy and hire Nato back.

There is now news...

I have no idea which of the two series has a higher standard of drivers, but I would have thought of all the series in the World they are the two closest in quality.
