A respectable first race indeed, considering the likes of Magnussen are often around you in midfield, with high likelihood to sent you into retirement.

Solid for a midseason first go. Not very close to Albon on qualy but beat a few cars, and then in the race was quite a bit closer in pace AND decisively overtook a couple.

But it's Monza, the track where one off drivers always look good. Let's wait for more data on Mr. Colapinto.

Did what he needed to do here, let see how he can sustain it.

Very well done Colapinto, nice to show that it is not impossible for a rookie to understand F1 tires, that the general story line of getting 2 full seasons to do that is nonsense.

Monza is pretty easy for entering Formula 1, like Nyck de Vries 2 years ago. The next races will be very interesting.

I predict he’ll smash it up at the castle bit in Baku

Yep. IIRC Logan scored the same kind of finish in his first race as well.

But Logan had enjoyed pre-season testing before the first race and probably spent a lot of time in the sim.

Colapinto didn't even know he would be in F1 a week ago.

And just a reminder of what we will be missing...

Not sure how this would if making such a compilation for the other drivers in the field since 1st race 2023, but looking at it... wow, just wow.

Watching that compilation it really is shocking how he never learned to not back out and save the car when you run wide.

Fully justifies Vowles saying he had gone as far as he could when he couldn’t comprehend the most basic laws of physics.
