It's here! Monaco without the scenery! But like it's more daylight-y version, it can and does bring us chaos and good racing... as well as a fair number of duds. Still, that's sport (and life) for you, so fingers crossed. It's also extremely hot and humid, so much so that more than one driver has said afterwards that their in-car water felt like sipping hot tea. (Who knows, maybe it is and the British teams believe it gives a life affirming edge.) Anyway, enough of my nonsense:
When is it on?
The sport being a moveable feat, this is not a given. The race kicks off at...
I'll save some of you squinting: 1300 BST (edited with thanks)
What's the starting grid?
Have Pirelli produced any graphics about tyre availability? Ideally in a format that's kind of hard to read?
Sure have!
Anything else?
Liberty have given sector times to that lizard that disrupted FP3:

1 stop MH for almost everyone? Still awful to overtake round here? Missed the last few and I have no idea if it's any better racing with the new rules.

It was the best F1 race last year. The removal of the 4 turns around the bay grandstand has made this track much more possible for overtaking around that straight even without DRS last year.
With DRS this year I would expect even more overtaking. So a bad start for Norris wouldn't matter as well

1 stop (unless there's a safety car, then it's two)

I think every race from now has a different start time until the end of the year

If it's mandatory to retain night time element, they could just start the race the same time they do FP1/3 so that it slowly leads to twilight. That's when it looks the most iconic anyway, with the low sun and when he skyline has some lights but is still easily visible.

I always appreciate anyone who starts a race thread, or weekend build up thread, but can we start a 'thing' where race times are listed in the global format of GMT?
Everyone knows their timezone relative to GMT.
I have no idea what BST is, and I assume anyone outside the UK, or possibly some of Europe, wouldn't know either!
Don't want to create a big drama... if BST is all we get, so be it!

It’s summer. We’re one hour ahead. Easy.
Or, use the widget on the autosport.com homepage (the website you’re already on) and you can change it to your local time. Very easy. It’s literally one click way.

Why would anyone NOT just always use the automatic session time conversion on formula1.com?

Edit: only need to do it once and it automatically adds the next season each year

But regardless whether you use F1 or Autosport or the other alternatives, my point was that you can check this stuff timezone-corrected in advance at the start of the year already, I don't understand the confusion people seem to have every weekend

Cool! Is it reliable and error free? I always go through the calendar and manually add for each race day of the season. I suppose I have an old school approach of doing everything myself so I know it's right

Yep. You can also turn on alerts if you want them. I added it once about 5 years ago and it’s just been there ever since.
Same here.
It feels like every year think I must add the F1 races to my calendar and then get pleasantly surprised to see it automatically done for me.
Deep down I know that Google is an evil global corporation, exploiting customers, promoting those that pay etc. but it does make life easier.

The point is that the times are only a single click away, and nobody is asking for supports. Motorsport.com has the exact same widget too, by the way.
Nobody posting here has any excuse for not knowing the start times for F1 sessions. Anything else, fair enough.

Nepal has a 45 minute skew from the rest of the world. Quite a pleasure some years back when pootling around Kathmandu that I could use that automatic time zone on my everything-proof Casio.

Well, Gambelli and I make two. GMT was taught to us at school as the international time standard, and it’s the only reference I’m always certain of. Maybe I’m showing my age…🤷🏻♂️I think that's a rather big assumption that the everyone knows their time relative to GMT.

The most confusing I've ever had was when I did the trans Siberian railway. The train always keeps to Moscow time (so when you're in Siberia you're 5 hours off kilter, which starts to matter with meal times), and even more confusing is that the stations have it in Moscow time too. So if you're told to get the 10am train from Irkutsk, you actually have to be there at 3pm.

If Lando leads at the start should be a relative easy race for him. I don't think any of the chasing cars have the pace and Ferrari are the closest challenger.
p2 will be a minor miracle for Max if he can pull it off.

Went on a USA road trip a few years ago. We didn't have a clue what time zone we were in and got thoroughly confused driving into a different one and losing an hour.
My phone would update automatically but my watch wouldn't and I wouldn't know which one to trust.

Yes, as Russell said, if he leads into T1 he will win by 30sec+ safety car dependant.
But apparently this is super exciting….
