We should expect an FE and NASCAR 'Driver Swap' event this weekend (the Homestead track is owned by NASCAR). This coming from a reliable source on the FE reddit page.

Opel the favourite for Gen4:
https://www.the-race...-maserati-opel/
This is alot bigger news that it might seem. Sam Smith is suggesting that both teams that use Stellanits power are not continuing with them into Gen4. Penske is rumored to go with Porsche and MSG is an unknown, will they even exist in Gen4? MSG have committed to Gen4 but the company could fold beforehand.
So main Stellantis team (I assume DS) would become new 12th team entry, and Stellantis will look for an existing team to rebrand as Opel.

They do have the best logo of all-time for an EV company.

Certainly appropriate for a short circuit.

Make sense!
The track will be fine to race until Gen 4 comes, so it's good to keep it till the 2026 season.
Also, it's always a fan-favourite and packed event each year, giving us dramatic season finales every time.

There is talk there of Liberty Global's majority ownership of the championship and their desire to push the marketing and grow the championship.
They have been part-owners since the first season, and parent company to Liberty Media through their purchase and marketing of F1.
I would love to know more about how and why they have treated each asset they way they have, and where any barriers to cross-overs have been found.

Monaco e-Prix race lenght & usable energy revealed!
2 races of 29 laps, one of them with Pit-Boost!
Should play out similar to the Jeddah Double Header, so the Pit-Boosted race will be fast paced from the get go, while the "traditional" one will be more strategic.
Should be a classic weekend, coming on May 3th & 4th!

Yeah i think so.
Monaco FE lap record is held by Sacha Fenestraz (Season 2022/2023) in 1'28''773
If we go by the improvement rate seen in Sao Paulo & Mexico (2,9 sec in Sao Paulo and 2,5 sec in Mexico), think it's realistic to expect the best lap times to be around low 1'26 or even into the high 1'25''xxx
Will be fascinating to see the improvement, think the AWD traction will be really noticeable around the principality!

When I look at that Loews hairpin picture, it reminds me that current F1 cars are as big as two FE cars combined lol
Really looking forward to this weekend with 2! races at Monaco. Like G23 said, highlight of the whole season this one.

I'm quite torn about that!
I think that now, with the introduction of Pit Boost, the Double Headers have much more meaning.
You'll see two very different kind of races between saturday & sunday: it will be ragged and almost flat-out racing with the Pit Boost, and a much more strategic race the other day!
And that's fascinating, while in the past both races were most of the times very similar between each other.
- 3 to Monaco!
Race OP coming either tomorrow evening or friday!

I personally feel every round except Monaco in the FE calendar should be a double-header, but Monaco, as the prestige event, should remain a single race. It will be very interesting to see where the pace of the cars land. I tend to have fun comparing them to vintage F1 cars from the historic race, and the Gen2 cars were around the early 1970s lap times, while Gen3 was solidly level with the mid-70s cars. Gen3Evo will be interesting as they'll enter a sort of no-man's land. Faster than late-70s cars, but unable to match the pace of the classic 80s turbos (which might be reached in Gen4).
Personally, I just want the racing to be good. The special thing about FE at Monaco was that the races were always great. I fear the increases in pace will take away some of that.
Posted 30 April 2025 - 14:01
None of the rounds should be a double header.
You should have the (Country name) E-Prix and there should be one winner.
Posted 30 April 2025 - 14:55
About that, seems like there will be a special trophy, handed at the Gala Dinner by Prince Albert and wife, to the (winning) driver who scores the most points between the 2 races!
So, there will still be one overall winner of the Monaco weekend.

A slightly off-the-wall comparison, but that would put the latest FE cars at approximately the same level as the slowest cars on the F1 grid in 1995 (which I think is impressive!), given that the circuit was a few seconds a lap slower back then.

From latest FE Notebook
https://fenotebook.c...-race-notebook/
Tokyo got overhauled for this season's Double Header, coming in 2 weeks!
Wider track in parts, removal of the last chicane, smoother and faster overall!
Also, different race distance for the two races!
"The Tokyo EPrix later this month will feature another double header event, except this one will see two vastly different races. That is because the two races will run to very different distances. FEN can reveal that the first race on Saturday May 17 will be three laps and almost 8kms longer than the Sunday race, with the first event run at 32kWh of useable energy with the added 3.85kWh added via Pit Boost, while the race on Sunday May 18 will run to just 32 laps at 32kWh.
Several alterations to the Tokyo EPrix track were made in recent months for the second and third running of the races in two weeks’ time. A widening of the track width at T1, an adjusted Pit Exit, a re-pavement of T2/T3, widening at T4 and T6 with the latter having an apex adjustment, and added escape route through runoff at T10, changes in surface profile and re-paved of T16/T17/T18 (with removal of chicane) and adjusted concrete wall and vehicle opening at pit entry are among the changes"

They limited Tokyo to 32 kWh last year as well. The track is not that quick and the energy use is not much, and so I understand this a similar situation to what they do in London.
They are not artificially inducing higher than usual energy saving, but rather using the energy allocation to control the race duration and level of energy saving within that in order to keep it around the usual level.
2024
33 laps (85.3km)
32 kWh
0.375 kWh/km
2025 PitBoost
35 laps (90.5km)
35.85 kWh (32 +3.85)
0.396 kWh/km
2025 Standard
32 laps (82.7km)
32 kWh
0.387 kWh/km
Energy allocations are actually a little higher than 2024, which may make sense as it sounds like the circuit updates may make it marginally quicker.

From a fan point of view, no argument there. It makes more sporting sense to me to fix the energy levels and vary the race distance/duration. Maybe there are commercial reasons why they choose not to do it this way, maybe not.
I suppose what we gain from this particular running of Tokyo is data about the racing impact of PitBoost in the context of extending the race duration. Jeddah and Monaco cover the scenario of same distance but more available energy.
The implication from Jeddah was that it raised the pace of the opening laps just enough to overcome the pit stop delta over the course of the whole race. As it stands, I would expect both Tokyo races to have similar pace profiles, just with the PitBoost race being longer.
Tokyo's existing energy limits arguably makes it a good place to explore this race extension angle. Yes, they could technically achieve the same effect by just authorising 35.85 kWh, but there then there would be no pitstop. If they want to use PitBoost in a scenario to extend races in future, it could be good to understand what this means for the racing.
So, it is indifferent to me. I do feel as though PitBoost so far is slightly experimental and gathering data for a hopefully more mature implementation during Gen4.
