There were problems with the fast charging during the dummy race apparently. DS Penske & Nissan were unable to recharge.

Still work to do. We can't have that happening during a proper race.
There's this twitter reply from FE Notebook about the issues:
Q: @fe_notebook were the problems for JEV and NN in Jarama only to do with charging cables? Nothing wrong on the RESS side? What were the problems?
A: DS Penske suffered cable issues but it is now known precisely what happened I believe and is fixed. Nato had an undisclosed problem but Nissan told me it was minor and not major concern.

Just noting that Jaguar is now in the middle of a very important transition for the brand.
Production of their combustion models ceased in the summer, and this month they ceased taking orders for new cars.
A new brand identity for their EV-only era is expected to be revealed later this month, and a concept car with new styling should be revealed in early December just before this FE season gets under way. (Perhaps we will see this in the final race livery?).
The first car of their new EV line up should be revealed and out on sale during 2025 and then deliveries from 2026.
After that we should be going into FE's Gen4 era and Jaguar will have been racing in Formula E for a decade.
First look at this today, assume this will be a big part of their race livery for the opener in São Paulo.

That font choice fills me with murderous intent. Then again, Jags always were the car of choice for cads.

There ware some very bold colours indeed in their 'Copy Nothing' teaser advert, so who knows what they actually come up with...
My betting money is on an evolution of the black/white/gold, however.
My only wish is that they put the leaper logo on the roll hoop fins.

Interesting indeed.
Also interesting that Jaguar think they are behind. Their performance at the start of the Gen3 cycle wasn't the best either, but they did get on top of it within half a season or so.

Struggle to see the ties with the automotive market with this teaser.
Looks more like a parfum commercial. This will be controversial for Jaguar!

Copy nothing except the same enshittification of your brand logo as everyone else.

Controversial is definitely the word.
I will be controversial also…
I like it.
You can't seriously like that utter toss-fest of an advert?!

I said what I said. I liked Jaguar before but I like them even more now.
My family and my partner liked it also.
Not just the advert, but the whole direction and rebrand.

Their previous target market wasn't buying Jaguars anymore, so I get it. But I do wonder whether they're targeting a buyer that doesn't really exist.
Can there really be that many young people with over £130,000 to splash on a car? But the cars are probably going to be interesting based on the wacky proportions of the new GT.

Why? What did you like about that that could possibly make you like them more?
It's utter nonsense. An advert for a car maker that doesn't feature any cars, and instead a 'diverse' ensemble of people wearing weird clothes. Explain it to me in a way that makes sense, because I'm genuinely curious.

All of that is harmless enough, for me. More relevant is the flushing away of a century of brand equity. The cars could be amazing, but then how does it distinguish itself from, say, a NIO EV? My gut feel tells me this rebrand will fail.

Harmless as maybe, but what does it actually have anything to do with Jaguar or cars? Nothing.
