There are a lot of movings for the Rallye Dakar in January 2025.  Ford and Dacia are entering the Rallye, Audi is leaving, a lot of drivers changing teams.

Ford will have Carlos Sainz, Nani Roma, Mattias Ekström and Mitch Guthrie

Dacia will have Nasser Al-Attiyah, Sébastien Loeb and Cristina Gutiérrez

No news yet about Toyota, but it seems they will have Yazeed Al-Rahji, Guerlain Chicherit, Giniel de Villiers, Guillaume De Mévius and a lot other drivers.

No news about Century, but I expect Matthieu Serradori, Brian Baragwanath and Tim Coronel back, with a lot of additional cars.

No news yet about Prodrive Hunter and Mini still continuing?

No news about Mister Dakar Stéphane Peterhansel or Romain Dumas.

I wonder why Ford isn't driving with Martin Prokop who was very successful with private Ford cars in the last years.

The Ford program is run by M-Sport.  As is customary for them (and GM) in all forms of racing they provide funding and design/engineering/marketing support and have an outside team operate the program.  Looks as though it’s a platform to market the Ranger Raptor to non US markets.  The full size Raptor is too damn big for most markets outside the US.  When people think about the stereotypical big ass US pickup, that’s the one.  It’s huge even for here.  They’ve been using desert off road in the US for the full size Raptor.  Good to see them as a factory effort.

Dakar is usually included in the Rally thread, and not a separate thread; as it doesn't get enough traction, like most of the off-road motorsport series.

Dakar is part of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC), a joint series of the FIM & FiA...........and not a stand alone event.

Previous years had standalone threads.

Here’s last years.  At 110 posts not huge but more than others have.
