There are way too many polls on this forum.

They mitigate against discussion because people can just click a box rather than explain them position.

The results are meaningless in any case.

I say get rid, and letā€™s talk about stuff instead.

The forum should scrap polls about polls.

No we should just scrap the trolls and compulsive contrarians who must argue everything, even when it makes them look like idiots.

Pro choice.  Thread titles ID polls in black and white, thus they are easily avoided by those that dislike them.

The ironic notion of having a thread to decide the fate of poles by having a pole.

You'd think you'd learn everything about this forum after being a member for 14 years, but today I find out we hold the power to abolish Poland.

Never saw a poll thread where it wasn't just a starting point for discussion so no, no problem to solve here.

Why should a feature that should be available to anyone who wants to use it, be deleted all together ?

Not very democratic. Donā€™t like poll threads ? Donā€™t participate. Create the threads you want to be a part of.

Thereā€™s more than enough room for everyone and anything.

hahah ok since I was one of the few who started a poll yesterday, I apologise for my part!

Although I geniunly think my question was worth asking, the current Sprint shootout is stupid and needs fixing. Also I was quite excited to start a new thread for the first time in my more than 10 years as a member

But yeah, for some reason yesterday like 3 or 4 polls came up, some of them I couldn't quite understand (just give the WCC trophy to the team with most points man :smoking: ).

We should have a meeting about it

When I was in highschool, I only had classes in the afternoon.

Once the class director called us all in to come in the morning for a meeting, in which the only thing we discussed was when would we schedule the actual meeting.

I remember a girl in class had to wake up crazy early just for that lol

Not just school, but meetings to discuss meetings are the bane of the modern working life. Also a sign of a level of management trying to justify their existance, in my opinion.

We have departments here who have 2 meetings a day to discuss how to be more productive.....

Having had a long career in market research, I cannot condone the removal of polls. Perhaps the problem is that to have meaningful polls, the question(s) need to be precise and the selection choice list needs to be unambiguous and extensive enough to cover the vast majority of opinions.

Unless this is somehow lost in translation, I'm bemused at the idea of a school that's only on in the afternoon...

Afternoon school used to be a thing I think, though laid on top of regular school - Unless forced upon you in the weekends, not to be confused with Sunday school.

I believe we had two options for classes, either 8AM to 1PM (morning classes) or 2PM to 7PM (afternoon classes) and the rest of the day was for homework or other activities, which could be done at home or at school. This was over 20 years ago.

Being on the morning classes was always better because you could just take better use of the day, whereas afternoon classes sure you'd sleep late but not actually do jack ****...

I am young enough not to have had Saturday school, they stopped for in 1970, which I think is the year I started school.
