With Sainz on pole, this should be a good one.

The WCC is certainly tightening up at the moment, whoop whoop.

Worth noting that if the gap is 52 points or more between Max and Lando after this race, he can mathematically win it in Brazil - would need to have an 86 point lead after Brazil with 34 on offer next weekend.

I always quite like this race, I never quite understand why people dislike it. It’s always quite an exciting opening lap, it’s sprung a few surprises over the years (ie one of the places Mercedes were less likely to dominate), it’s quite a fun track and I like the atmosphere. What’s not to like.

Sadly the inlaws are taking me out to a show tonight so I won't be able to see this live, but I'll catch up later 'as live', but I won't be joining the in-race postings.

On paper it should be a good one, but I fear a simple Ferrari 1-2, and a lot of DRS trains without much else happening beyond lap 1.

I hope Carlos wins though, he deserves it.

How long will Perez last before crashing out whilst attempting a desperado move?

I hope, to start with, that at least the top ten makes it all the way to and through T6  without major drama. . Then, for the sake of entertainment, I hope the slowest (of the fastest) car leads after the first lap. That car is probably driven by Max. But Carlos will not give up his place easily! If Lando is behind one or two Ferrari's, regardless of where Max is, I hope they dare to be a bit more aggressive than in Austin and really go for a win. In Austin it seemed they only raced Max, but if they keep doing that they might not win any championship.

Interested to see if Lando has any more luck racing Max this time. Go Ferrari!

Ran wide in the stadium, lost his lap, then the tyres didn't hang on for a second attacking lap.

More like "surf's up!"

Wasn't it the same curb Russell went surfing on?

How’s Johnny Herbert get a job as a steward? Seen Bernoldi on there too. Journeyman job for life to allow continued paddock nobbling?

That would be my sentiment if the season ended in October like it used to but now that we have races up until December, I don't feel this way anymore. Even the best season needs to end at some point and I can't wait to see what the next one brings, even if chances are it's not going to be as competitive as the previous one.

The fact that after the first lap, it's usually always a dull race?

Hopefully today might be different.

From day one, I've always been excited to see a single car of this caliber on the track being rung out. I guess I find very little dull about a race and the atmosphere of the events. Good racing doesn't always happen at the sharp end of the field.

I assume most people are expecting hyper exciting Lap 1 and boring race afterwards.

But maybe they'll surprise us and we'll see anticlimactic Lap 1 but exciting race thereafter.

You never know, right? Lots of competitive cars at the front means a lot of opportunity for a race to break out.

SkyF1: Franco Colapinto has scored 5 points in 4 races, the same number of points scored by Sargeant and Latifi in 66 combined races.
