Really been thinking of finally going towards the Festival of Speed. Was thinking of friday-saturday. That seems like a compromise that my travel partner can handle lol. There isn't really many free hotels etc around Chichester, but is there some travel options (trains, buses) from Brighton for example??

Mostly interested in seeing some rally, f1 and just having some fun seeing cars.

There are direct trains to Chichester from Brighton, Southampton and Portsmouth, as well as from London Victoria via Croydon and Gatwick Airport, all of which stop at intermediate places where accommodation might not be fully booked (yet!) Maybe look at Emsworth, Havant or Fareham to the west - or even Southampton or Salisbury; Three Bridges, Crawley, Horsham or somewhere near West Croydon station to the north. Brighton's a fair distance and all the intermediate stops are a bit 'touristy' at any time of year. No direct buses from Brighton (change at Littlehampton) - and it's three hours each way!

Ok.The travel from London would quite long since it would be a return trip each day. Sad to admit, but I really don't have much clue about England apart from London and Manchester where I have been to before. Would Portsmouth be ok for FOS visit? There is some connecting bus supposed to be to the event area from Chichester station I understood?

Portsmouth should be okay, but as it's big and quite close to Chichester it's one of the places where accommodation gets booked up early for the FoS. Although it's actually quicker to get to Chichester by train from Fareham (30 minutes) than from Portsmouth (40 minutes).

There's a shuttle bus service from Chichester station to the FoS.

Reserved hotel now from Portsmouth centre. Expensive, but for such a once in a lifetime experience I guess will be worth it. Lets see how much the rest of the holiday (some extra days in London) will be :D

Will be first time in Uk since 2016!

Thanks for help @Vitesse2 !

Why try Hayling Island as it’s full of up market Warner camps and loads of other holiday parks are available as well.
