Michel died yesterday aged 77 years , a staple of the 2 litre class driving or engineering various makes , he created the MRE model car range ,launching in 75 or 76
initially in white metalbefore moving to resin , he sett out to build a model car museum featuring every entry that raced at Le Mans , he never opened his museum ,instead selling the collection to the ACO where it is the basis of the model collection in the ACO museum. Back to real cars
,he engineered the VBM Le Mans entry , also producing the ACE P82 , he started producing replicas , a Stratos , a Porsche 908 coupe , then a
small tank which had the driver enclosed within , finally he moved into boat building , a hands on fabricator with ideas and vision , MICHEL adieu

Not a name I was familiar with so I did a little web searching and found he was one of the drivers listed for this beauty:

Elkoubi was an absolute legend of Le Mans, and other than a racer, above all as a modelling pioneer at a time when mass-produced resincasts were not a thing. He basically built the entire grids, year by year, of the 24 Hours.
