Wow, he's tall!
Edit: that's made me a bit sad. No way he's going to F1 being that height.
Real happy for Ugo and his career.
if you can fit him in the car you get a talented driver !
How tall is he exactly?

What a joke this place is.
I'd like to have a Go Kart race there. Make it part of the REAL Drivers World Championship.
But then they'd have some serious safety issues.
Real happy for Ugo and his career.

What was the verdict on the Fuoco/Marciello move?
Engel winning was lol...
Thanks for coming!!

Regarding the GT incident… Marciello arguing on Twitter that Fuoco moved under braking while he himself didn‘t come close to making the corner is pretty, pretty funny.
The reason why moving under braking is frowned upon is that it messes up the braking for the one behind. Without telemetry, we cannot really say if he'd made the corner or not. Especially since Fuoco squeezed him onto the curbs which also disturbs the braking. Fuoco should have a penalty there.

I had a look at it, I don't think Fuoco was making the corner with or without the small touch either. He was out of control, slewing around.
Marceillo was definately not making it, a wiser Fuoco would have let him have his accident alone and carried on. But these are high stakes moments, ultimately why we love motorsport. Pure drama.

Around 2m. I've seen some people saying he's 205cm/6'8". Bear in mind he's not even 18 yet...
Holly... I think that's some 20 cm taller than the tallest driver we've had in F1 in modern times. I thought such tall drivers wouldn't even fit in single seater cars used above certain level of competition.

For context, that would be 6-11cm taller than Hans-Joachim Stuck, who seems to be credited as the tallest F1 driver in history.

The only pro driver I can think of such height is former IndyCar/Trans Am driver Chris Kneifel.

Tommy Kendall is 6'6", or at least he says so.
Tall drivers tend to gravitate towards GTs and sports cars, for obvious reasons. (I'm sure there was a very tall sports car driver in the Porsche 956 era too but couldn't guess who -- perhaps it was Stuck who we've already mentioned)

Dusan Borkovic (Touring Car driver) is 207 cm apparently.

How tall was Justin Wilson ?
Or Graham Rahall ?
Jp
Wilson was 190cm. Rahal a couple of cm shorter than that.

Matt Neal of BTCC fame is also 6'6''/2m tall.

Speaking of taller drivers...
Anyone remember when Alex Wurz (who is only 6'1" or so) was beginning his F1 career there was some crazy, but semi-serious (at least it seemed so at the time) story floating around that he had been encouraged (maybe by Flavio Briatore!) to undergo some sort of elective limb shortening surgery so that he might better fit in a Formula 1 car.

It worked for Johnny Herbert. He was a lanky bugger.

Hardly. He wasn't nicknamed "the imp" for nothing at only 167cm (just under 5ft 6in) even allowing for any accident related shortening effect!

I found myself chuckling at that Prema video where they had to zoom out so far that the greenscreen didn't cover it when Ugo arrived

Didn't Wurz also experience a case of "sorry, can't drive here" due to being too tall.

There were some problems in early 2005. de la Rosa drove McLaren's third car in FP in the early races. Managed to put Wurz for the third car in Bahrain then (de la Rosa raced in place of Montoya)

Macau related, but more to show the quality of this video
Might be the best video I have seen.

It's impressive but at the same time, it shows how early motos have to brake.
This looks so narrow.
yes, race cars braking is the most underrated thing - especially for F1. People think fast on the throttle is impressive, but the brakes are actually the most impressive thing.
