Track gubbins to be added when I can find it again. I think there’s new kerbs or something.

Just a few track changes to kerbs and new gravel strips at Qatar. #F1.

It's been around 25-30 degrees all week but it's raining today and expected to be much cooler across the race weekend. Could be another great weekend for Mercedes.

Taking a punt on Carlos Sainz for this one, but frankly, I can see anyone listed bar Checo winning this. At least Qatar is a decent track for modern F1 cars. If any of the desert venues are in the spirit of the Tripoli Grand Prix at Mellaha Lake, it’s this one.

Seems like they've done much more for the track limits problem than what COTA was supposed to do. Nice.

Let Checo get the last two races and we have a sawmill worker's full hands of double race winners.

But voted Lando, of course.

Just as a sign of how forgettable I find some of modern F1, I read that last year Lewis and George crashed in the race which you’d think I’d possibly remember given I must have watched it happen but I don’t recall itat all.

I definitely remember it. It was at the first corner. My only feeling about it now was thinking, “that can’t possibly have been just last year”. It feels like many seasons ago due to the endless seasons we have now.

Mercedes put Hamilton on softs for some reason, so lap 1, turn 1, Hamilton went for broke, threw it round the outside but cut in too sharply, with Russell having nowhere to go.

The real question is "how do you pronounce 'Qatar'"?

Perhaps also a sign of how low-stakes the goings-on at Mercedes have become

Hmmn, true true, seeing as every second of say, Lewis and Nico’s hilarious Barcelona wipeout is seared into the memory.

I think the battle between Haas, Racing Bulls and Alpine for 6th and the millions involved with that might be worth watching as well,

I see Lando and McLaren as favorites here but hope it's going to be a close race. Curious to see if Verstappen can continue to be really strong in the sprints though.

Remember the mandatory 3 stops and the ‘familiarisation session’ with no live timing? Me neither, until it I read about it this morning. Totally forgot about it!

I absolutely had forgotten everything about the Great Tyre Crisis of Qatar 2023, yes. I think they use one of those flashy light things from Men in Black on us all post-race here.

Cutty Sark, replace the "Y" with "R". (Is 1000 US Central Time too early for a drink?)
