Race day at Qatar, a place where startling things happen yet oddly, no-one remembers it afterwards. The big news (before we all forget about it forever, obviously) is that Verstappen has been hit with a one place grid penalty for getting in Russell’s way. Oookay.

New grid therefore looks like this:

WCC can be decided today if…

Race begins at 4PM GMT, 7PM local

I want to watch, but I am not sure I can take more oustanding penalties for nothing...  :( I have no trust in the FIA unfortunately. Hope the race is good and without debatable stewarding, but for this probably Max has to give up in every single battle

Just so people know, we’re five minutes away from the F2 feature race. Join us in the F2 thread:

All races since Porsche have had depayed starts, or been cancelled all together, we should start a little poll on the race starting at 04:00 PM GMT or later - Being a gambler I say 04:15 PM GMT.

All this for non-televised Porsche race, there's not even a single image of the crash that caused the delays and cancellations. (Same for yesterday I think)

Thought I was going crazy when I saw the starting grid - seems I have a bit to catch up on

Because you imagined you were in a Porsche and about to crash?

How much does it cost and out of curiosity why have you picked this race to attend mate?

Yesterday we had an image of removed and/or punched-through ARMCO in the F1 Academy pre-race.

Not a thing today.

Why is George wearing sunglasses at night.

Because he thinks he's Corey Hart?

Beri, as the other thread is locked, the F2 podium cringe was that there was no bubbly of any kind to spray, the drivers looked around clueless and the guy doing the PA said something like ‘and for those that want to celebrate, let’s celebraaaaaate!’ (Cue music), drivers looked at each other, shook hands and walked off. Epic stuff.

They offered Tom to set the Pirelli tyre pressures for the weekend.   ;)

The weird thing is, they held champagne-like bottles as they were walking off the podium. Were they late or weren't they allowed to spray them?

Why is George wearing sunglasses at night.

I've been asked this question, chemotherapy affected the sensitivity of light to my eyes and so you will see me wearing shades at times when most would have removed them. Maybe George's eyes are just more sensitive to light than others.

Let’s see if the main race can improve on the pretty dreary sprint.

I like the layout of the track, just as Saudi Arabia's and Abu Dhabi's. But the circuits look so cold and fake to me, as if all the buildings were veneers. I can't tell they are in Qatar today, either. Might as well be the moon or the Sahara.

Can't wait for the Australian GP, despite its awful track.

Hopefully no bad stewarding and Max takes a break. I wouldn't mind Oscar winning either.

Yeah, in all seriousness, those floodlights are bloody bright. Probably best to keep your eyes in good shape before putting the tinted visors on.

Either that or George is a bit of a tw*t.

Just asking; how many posts are you going to make about the stewards during this race?  Will you toss such a comment in with each of your posts?
