Line up is:
McLaren: Lando Norris/Oscar Piastri, Pato O’Ward
Ferrari: Charles Leclerc, Arthur Leclerc/Antonio Fuoco
Red Bull: Isack Hadjar, Yuki Tsunoda
Mercedes: Kimi Antonelli, George Russell
Aston Martin: Jak Crawford, Felipe Drugovich
Alpine: Paul Aron, Jack Doohan
Haas: Ryo Hirakawa, Esteban Ocon
RB: Ayumu Iwasa, Liam Lawson
Williams: Luke Browning, Carlos Sainz
Sauber: Gabriel Bortoleto, Nico Hulkenberg
Nobody really cares. Hamilton’s not in the Ferrari yet… tests already half done as they run it during the daytime unlike the race weekend.
Normal drivers are using 2025 tyres, ‘young’ drivers are using 2024 spec tyres.

That, or next year's tyres are worse. Knowing Pirelli, I wouldn't be surprised.

Remember how we were supposed to have pointless Young Driver Sprint Race? Anyone would have had energy for that?
Yeah, it would be naff. I'd hold it on the Thursday before the final race.

It must be a serious illness to miss 2 x F2 races and an F1 test.

Urgh. I hate new starters who pull sickies in their first week
Fail the probation Toto… it’s a big red flag!

It's a pity he's missing Suzuka. I would have enjoyed it if Juju Noda had lapped faster than him!

He is back to afternoon testing
But long flight to Suzuka would be very hard for him , so they cancelled it
He had 40 degrees temperature at Saturday, very hard virus

Well, given that Antonelli is an eighteen-year-old who hasn't done anything to anybody, I for one wish him a speedy recovery.

well, working for Mercedes/Toto makes him guilty by association. I don't know for what, but I'm sure we have posters that can come up with a charge.

Is it just the fact that his dad decided to give him "Kimi" as a name, and that stuck that are bothering you?

As all the kit is there, and with the limited testing they do, I do think it's silly to still limit them to just one car.
They are using two though?

Need to find some reasons to dislike him… it’s the way of things
Can’t spell Ingrown Toenail without Antonelli…. And those things are awful.

Ah, I missed that. So used to them only being able to use the one, so assumed the same here.

I really wish we could get a real quote from one of these team swapping drivers on the true differences between cars when it's this fresh. There's no chance Carlos would come out and explain exactly how the Williams differs from the Ferrari, but boy would it be fun to be a fly on the wall for a debrief or just a conversation with him where they talk this through. I know the margins are tiny, but I wonder what that margin actually feels like from the cockpit and what the driving adaptations are?

More the hype surrounding him while his F2 year was lacklustre and he crashed his car after ~4 laps of FP1.

Bearman proved he wasn’t a flop in an F1 car
I am not sure that you can judge Bearman in F1 yet. Rookies Colapinto or de Vries had very good initial races, for example, only to flop afterwards. So more time is needed.

Interesting to compare these times to some of the Q times. EG Is Sainz really that much quicker than the Williams current drivers in a car he just met? Or is this all just misleading?

We've seen the Williams car be quite easy to adapt to. Add in some track evolution, but I can't remember if the track is faster during the day (testing) or at night (Qualifying)?
No matter what, it's both impressive and a little ominous for Albon.
He also was only just behind Charles in a Ferrari.
Another notable time is Hulk, in a Sauber he doesn't know.

Were the "old drivers" like Sainz using 2024 spec tyres or 2025?
I think all established drivers used 2025 tyres, including the C6, which is one step softer than the current C5.
