The WMI code is used in vehicle VIN's the world over and here is a nerly full list

https://en.wikibooks...dentifier_(WMI)

Obviuosly it gets updaed regulalry but its long list.

My son once worked at Renault and a long runing data question was " when is a new car a car not bits of car?" - it's actually quite an important question in a car company databse!

The standard answer was when it had a VIN number

Reading that many commercials are bits. Incomplete vehicles.

Plus ofcourse so many incestuous vehicles. Holdens by Toyota, Suzuki, Isuzu Nissan

Fords by Nissan, Mazda,

Nissans by Ford

Toyotas by Holden, and internationally BMW and Subaru. [Which they own]

The long list goes on.
