I am looking for 1966, 1967, 1968 Motoring News papers.

Used to buy MN copies from Pooks Motor Books.

Do not respond, however. Who can help?

They do turn up on Ebay. There are several from the mid-60s for sale at the moment, but they don't look to be in great condition. But therein lies the problem of finding MNs. Being a news paper they didn't keep so well as magazines such as  Autosport and Motor Sport, of which there is no shortage of them out there. I suspect many were consigned to the bin.

Simon Lewis sometimes has some, although none of that era at present.

Might be worth asking here - they have some from 1970s but you never know .

There is a rumour they have a complete set of MN at Silverstone?

Moderator Vitesse 2 may be able to help with  information about whether the Library at Colindale has a set.  I think from a conversation with them years ago that the archives at NMM at Beaulieu have quite a good set. There are no doubt sets, full or selected years, held by vatprious historians and enthusiasts. Whether they will see this thread I do not know.

Best of luck and keep us informed.

I realise this may have been resolved now, but just a picky point: Colindale closed down, and The British Library at St Pancras would be the place to contact about the newspaper and magazine collection.

I have a very long bound run of 'MN' from No 1 in 1955 into the 1990s - but its sad decline editorially saw me abandon it.  I have numerous unbound copies until that time came.  But no guarantee of current condition out in the cold, cold garden shed...

St Pancras appears to have most (all?) of them, as befits a Copyright Library. Listings aren't all that informative, but they seem to be variously bound and/or boxed in 12-month and/or 6-month batches.

That said, they might not be physically at St Pancras and might have to come from Boston Spa!

The National Libraries of Scotland and Wales (links on the right of that page) only have collections starting in the 1970s and 1980s. The other Copyright Libraries - Oxford, Cambridge, Dublin - don't seem to have them at all.
