Thank you for starting the thread FLB
Been lurking on this court topic for a while now, hoping that Nascar 'leadership' gets knocked down a few pegs. I've never supported Hamlin more lol

Smokey Yunick is at least grinning.

I hope the AllahChannel is still an option .
Jp
That's not going away anywhere.
Btw, the most entertaining part of Nascar right now is the politics. Love seeing this growing dumpster fire of leadership incompetence, excessive greed and a failing format ( sounds like real life and politics everywhere huh ) - they should do their Drive to Survive solely around this.

So I was just reading about the In Season Tournament. They’re really running out of ideas here, aren’t they?
On the plus side, they’re racing at Hermanos Rodriguez. Wonder what layout they’ll use.

….. ot watching the 2010 Talledega race. Its good stuff, the ebb and flow of positions is insane.

I’ve just heard Helio is doing the Daytona 500 !?!?!

Trackhouse?!?
Posted 06 January 2025 - 03:20
Trackhouse?!?
Yes.
Posted 06 January 2025 - 07:12
Trackhouse?!?
That’s the internet rumor. Or one of them. I wonder if they’ll make him do the ARCA race as a rookie test. IIRC they required the other Indycar drivers to do at least that in spite of the fact they’ve been on super speedways.
Posted 06 January 2025 - 20:08
Yes.
Posted 11 January 2025 - 00:14
Oh and Helio is very likely IN the Daytona 500 on a provisional... while Kyle Larson has been told to go to his room and think about what he did: NASCAR issues wide-ranging rule updates ahead of 2025 season | RACER

So, no Mike Wallace.

NASCAR: Daytona 500 will not have ride for Mike Wallace, who's been idling too long
But maybe Danny Ric? Jr Motorsport will make an annoucement tomorrow about the Daytona 500 and nobody knows what is it yet. Some speculate Truex Jr. and even Ricciardo. Let's wait and see.

I'm glad to see JR Motorsports make the leap to Cup for a race, hope it goes well for them.

Jeez, thank you for sharing that Alan. Truex Jr had a lot of people to greave to past years. Sending all the best to their family.
Happy to see him reunited with Cole Pearn for the Daytona 500 in the #56 Tricon Toyota though. Hopefully he'll have something to celebrate soon.
Also, if y'all are interested in the Chili Bowl Nationals, here's the replay of the Live Stream from yesterday - enjoy:

Zilisch looks like a star in the making
Posted 24 January 2025 - 03:53
Zilisch is unbelievable in anything he drives and will really fun to watch. Mature beyond his age- remember watching him wipe up in Miatas when he like 15 or something... and he is a sponsor's dream.

Saw him at Watkin's Glen last September, he made it look easy in his Xfinity debut.

Must admit those heat races were very entertaining! Much much better than the Colosseum in LA, and for NASCAR, much more appropriate.
Posted 02 February 2025 - 18:42
Lol, I completely forgot about the clash. Ah, tradition.
When it was at the LA Coliseum, I started paying a bit more attention. Happy that it's at Bowman Gray at least, and will check out the highlights tomorrow as I need more sleep after the Bathurst 12 Hours yesterday.
Btw, this talk about Hamlin's lack of sponsorship was quite interesting:

It’s the proper way to do heat racing.

This is en francais, but Endurance Info says that Rick Ware Racing owes Italian sportscar team Eurointernational around one million Euros for their 2019/2020 Asian Le Mans Series season. A judgement was given in Italy and recently confirmed by the North Carolina Superior Court. The North Carolina judgement cannot be appealed.
The payment must be made before February 16, which is the opening day for Speedweeks at Daytona. RWR have entered a car for Cody Ware at the 500.
