I am researching some aspects of the Hesketh team prior to the end of the 1975 season.   In particular, I am looking for any film references relating to the March 731 used in 1973 and the Hesketh 308 that followed.

At the end of 1975, as the original team was closing prior to passing on the cars to Walter Wolf and Frank Williams, the team participated / organised a farewell event at Thruxton.   I wondered if anyone remembers that event.  James Hunt demonstrated one of the two 308s present and Thames Television was involved in producing a report - either for news or as a feed to another programme.   Murray Walker interviewed both James Hunt and Lord Hesketh as part of the event and these were included in the production.

Following the victory in then 1974 International Trophy, I think it was ATV that produced an hour long (?) television documentary some clips of which, including ptaying at Easton Neston, have been seen in other productions.  The programme was shown fairly soon after the Silverstone event IIRC.

There may also have been a cinema documentary, probably released part way through or after 1975.   There was also a TV series called "The Real James Hunt" that was released in 2001 and made by a company called Diverse Productions.

If anyone has further information on the above, it would be great to expand any relevant detail,

I’m sure you’ll know this photo Ian, but others may not have seen it before. The Hesketh team at Thruxton, 15th November 1975.

According to a small piece at the bottom of page 4 of the October 12th 1975 programme the Forward Trust Trophy meeting on November 15th would feature a 'SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL. It's top secret at the moment but if you're a Formula One fan you'll want to be at Thruxton...'

Unfortunately on page two there was a full page advert for the meeting advertising the fact that Lord Hesketh would be presented with a BARC Gold Medal and the Hesketh Formula One car would be present...

The meeting was televised by the BBC on their Grandstand programme. After he was presented with his Gold Medal, Lord Hesketh predicted that Thruxton would one day host a non championship Formula One race. We are still waiting your Lordship...although of course Formula One cars did feature in ShellSPORT Group 8, Aurora AFX and Historic Formula One races at Thruxton.
