Definitely needs a lot more cars next year. 22 cars for a 12 hour race is pretty poor, and from what I saw of it, the race really suffered for it in the final few hours when quite a few cars had dropped out. This race won't last much longer if there's another year with as low a car count as this.

Also again, whoever made the Intercontinental GT Challenge calendar for this year needs to walk away:
So Le Mans is June 15th, Nurburgring 24 - June 22nd and Spa 24 - June 29th.

Flying Lizard ditches their Nissan GT4s, effectively immediately: https://www.dailyspo...-programme.html
So, the Z is now a Japan-only motorsports phenomenon. Not a good sign for the future of the company.

Well there were rumours of it tanking so hence why I'm rooting for Rowland even more this year in Formula E. But I haven't seen that much doom lately from their parent company though - I might be out of the loop. Barely see any Nissan GTs anymore anywhere outside of SuperGT. Gone are the days of 2015's Bathurst 12 Hours victory and World GT Challenge campaigns.

If you are race starved after a very processional Suzuka - rejoice for the start of the ELMS season is today at Barcelona!
While there's no real change up front with the LMP2s, we have 4 chassis for the new LMP3 rules and 6 manufacturers in GTs - Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari are joined by McLaren, Mercedes and Corvette. You can read more about that below:
https://www.dailyspo...eview-lmp3.html

Race starts at 11am UK time ( 3 and a half hours from this post ) and can be watched on Youtube as I will while resting:

Last weekend I saw a repeat of an old episode of the Grand Tour.
Watching that episode,...
I'm sure that a number, if not the majority of race fans are happy about what the current Ford GT3 cars used in racing is.
but...
I prefer the previous GT category car Ford used....

Visually yes, but I prefer the Mustang sound.
TBH I think that this answer makes you are a perfect example, fully representing the majority of race fans I referred to within my post about them who prefer the current Ford GT3 car for.

Basically, even after a podium in Saudi last year and matching pro’s times, plus lots of offers, he couldn’t put the funding together and is going to be sidelined. Racing is expensive! Hope he gets some guest appearances this year.

As if we don't have enough Racing happening all at once at the moment, the former Paul Ricard 1000km, now 6 Hours at Le Castellet is now Live on Youtube as it's the first round of the GT World Challenge Europe season. So after Formula E, if you still have the Racing bug, you are in luck as we still have 4+ hours to go:

The rain came literally at the checkered flag WRT BMW draws first blood of the main GT series out there. Next round is first week of May with Sprint at Brands Hatch.
Looking forward to see if there are any highlights of SuperGT later tomorrow.

Stumbled upon the live stream of the GT3 shootout during the Goodwood Member's Meet yesterday and really enjoyed it.
Here's a replay of the qualifying with no commentary-
Was a nice reminder of where GT3 began. The cars seem so much more dynamic with more suspension movement and much more squirrely than the planted cars of 2025. Plus the sounds are all stunning with not a turbo to be found.
