Anyone jumped on the bandwagon today? Downloading the early access as i type. I haven't really followed the news too much about it, and not sure if it is even part of the early access version released today, but the open world/"free run" around the Nurburgring area seems like it could have lots of potential. Heard some rumors that it will be more of a simcade than a pure simulator, but if it is done right, that doesn't bother me much. If they just get the driving to feel good and fun, and they manage to build a community with their open world, AC EVO would offer something different from the other sims/games i use/play.

Didn't even start on my computer. After trying a few things i googled it, and it seems to be a relatively common problem, and an article i read suggested to wait for a hot fix. I can't be bothered trying more things out, so i will just wait for the first patch... The open world feature will probably not be ready until summer it seems, but i am looking forward to get a feel for the driving experience at least.

Had lots of fun with the original Assetto Corsa, but never really got on with the "competizione". I am by no way a fanboy of AC, but i do hope they get a fun sim or simcade game with a good solution for their "open world" part of the game.
I have had some shoulder/upper issues with my left arm since early summer, so i have not spent much time on simracing (was on the mend, but due to my own stupidity i "over used" the arm and reintroduced the problem, starting the healing from scratch again), but Iracing is my goto sim, and have been for a long time.
I do hope that AC Evo can be a less demanding sim/game, to enjoy those impulse 20min of driving i get the urge to do now and then, as iracing can be too completive and "serious" for those just "sit down and drive" sessions....and with some real roads, and hopefully other players on the road, it could be really fun i think (but could also be a disaster if you get punted of the road at every corner by oncoming traffic ).
I do hope it will drive well, optimized enough that i can get VR up and running, and that the "open world" part is done in a way that makes it fun and involving.... if not, i have wasted a few bucks, but not much more than a take-away pizza i am better of not having anyway

I have installed AC Evo and did the "license" challenges. It feels different from AC and from ACC. Here my impressions.
Compared to AC:
- Cars seem more stable and with more inertia, you really feel the mass of the car.
- Sounds are much better and immersive.
- Graphics are really cool, especially the scattered clouds; rain looks and sounds good. Good feeling of speed.
- TV cameras are done well, they have a natural and realistic flow that makes watching a replay enjoyable.
- On the other side I cannot feel the limit of the car when braking, maybe I have to get used to the FFB or there is something i need to adjust in the settings.
- (This was expected) the game needs a good CPU/GPU to pull good FPS.
Compared to ACC:
- Cars feel a bit more reactive to the steering inputs.
- Way better behavior on kerbs (no bouncing).
- FFB is a bit more informative, especially for weight transfer.
- Graphics look sharper.
Overall my first impression is that the game builds upon ACC and improves in those areas where ACC was lacking. Cars are a bit less "direct" to drive than in the old AC and the FFB is a bit less intuitive.
Many features are in a beta state, especially AI (quite horrible), VR and the whole "game economy" thing. Also the game freezes every now and then. Lots of work to be done but if you like driving (and buying) cars it is already fun to play.
