As there does not seem to be a thread for this yet, why not start it?

My favorite underdog team has had a quite succesful year in 2024 but will be looking to progress even more. With two new drivers and a revised team structure and also a sense of optimism they will be hoping to shake up the more established midfield and perhaps score a surprise podium.

Komatsu has shown to be a very clever team manager, both in his choices, his vision and his people management. They have really upped their game last year and I am quite optimistic for 2025.

The tie-up with Toyota was a clever move that could really benefit them by giving them more sim data and testing time.

The team has also made changes to their strategy team after messing up several races last year. See this article for the changes: https://www.the-race...m-changes-2025/

I like Komatsus realistic but also ambitious way of working and I hope HAAS can benefit for a long time from his leadership as I can see him being a target for a larger team.

I also really appreciate that they are the first team with a female race engineer: https://www.the-race...-race-engineer/

I hope to see them do well as I feel this team is doing things the right way. They are giant killers and I am up for it!

I’m excited about their new driver line up. Things were feeling a bit stale for a while.

I went off HAAS a while during their Rich Energy and Uralkali phases, but I’m warming to them again.

Yes they had some years under Steiner leadership that were very questionable. I think they have a very good line up this year. I don't like Ocon per se, but he is a very good driver, probably better than Hulk. Baerman has also shown to have a lot of potential.

HAAS won't be taking Ferrari's 2025 front suspension (they do take the 2025 rear suspension and gearbox)

Ferrari making major 2025 F1 design shift - but Haas won't follow - The Race

"They've been talking about this for the last few seasons, but we never actually did carry over the front suspension. But when they looked at it properly in terms of, 'OK, if we buy Ferrari's '25 front suspension, when are we going to have the information available and what does that mean in terms of the aero hit?' because you have to take a hit first, you have to recover.
"So comparing that and how much potential that unlocks against [the benefit if you] don't stop development because we carry over the front suspension.
"They've done the proper study and the conclusion was we should do a carryover. Then we had the confidence to then go for that decision, whereas before we didn't."

The Haas VF-25 will feature a brand-new monocoque rather than carrying over last year's design. This is because of the need to make changes to unlock aerodynamic opportunity in key areas.

Well I am not looking at the numbers, the wording sounds very logical to me. One thing that worries me is that inheriting the last year suspension system can also limit the performance. (I do believe that this is a little bit too silly thing to talk about.)
I think Haas recent appointments shows the level of change that they want to bring into the racing team. I have no idea if this will conclude in the higher result but I do imagine that it will. So I think it’ll be a chase between Alpine or Haas, For Ocon for sure this will give a good motivation

Good to see they’re making more of their own parts.
