Re: the F5000 engine builders thread - here are some period articles from US magazines and weeklies covering Al Bartz, Traco, and George Bolthoff. These are overviews and semi-biographical so some info is by nature repetitive. The period how-to articles re: the builders' engines are possibly more interesting.

Interesting articles although Mike Goth having finished 2nd overall in the Tasman Series (photo caption in post 6) is news to me and presumably everyone else who was there at the time.

Bad wording I suspect.  Goth did come 2nd in the race at Warwick Farm in 1970, not the overall series.

Personally, I was more intrigued to see the Butler flexilight being advertised in a US publication.  Who knew this was a key British export to the Land of the Free? It was standard equipment in most British rally cars of the period, although usually needing a bit of string to stop it dropping when being hooned over a bumpy road.
