Racing bulls and Sauber are at the bottom for me. Sauber would have been better off using hard edges/curves instead of a gradient. I don't understand the appeal of the RB livery. Mainly white with yellow+red...bleh.

The HP logo on the Ferrari is more obvious on the white background, no doubt they paid to make sure it popped out. The straight edges of the white (polar opposite of a circle) also helps it standout.

Man, RB has over 50% of votes in the poll. How different I'm to everyone else in terms of aesthetic preference.  To me, it's one of the least preferable liveries, if not the least pereferable one this year. I've never found liveries where white is the predominant color, appealing.

Or is it that RB's vote count is inflated because of the fact they're the only team with a new concept? Anyway, not my cup of tea.

Back in 2020 I think it was, the bottom few teams all had white cars, and I used to joke any time another team was doing badly that they'd be "white carred" for next year. Ferrari narrowly avoided having to run a white car in 2021. And now it's seen as a good thing...

Black Mercedes continues to look cool. Hope Lewis got his fee as design consultant.

Don’t get the love for Racing Bulls really. It’s just all white, with a Red Bull logo and small blue Red Bull logo’s on the engine cover. Haas car is the best in my opinion, followed by McLaren.

You're not alone.  I think it's awful.  White CAN be done well with the right other color accents, though it always tends to have that "backmarker paint scheme" feel to it.  This particular one was not done well, and - to me - those little bulls in the back are rather cheesy and contrived.  Makes the whole back end look messy for no reason and obscures the number (then again, they LOVE to obscure the number, don't they?)

I disagree. I have always liked a good white livery. Stewart with their tartan stripe, or when Williams were running their Martini. I was disappointed when both eventually changed. Too many liveries tend to either overcomplicate, or have some really bad colour clashes thanks to sponsors. So having a very clean simple design is always appealing to the eye.

Maybe the Racing Bulls just looks better in that dark environment last night. To me, I'd really need to see them either during a bright sunny day or at least under the lights (ala Singapore).

Somehow when I see the darker-and-whiter Ferrari, I initially identify it as a Toyota.

Correct, this one is MUCH MUCH better.  Shame.

No.

Looks messy in a photo and the detail would be lost at speed.

Bold is best.

I wonder if any of us would be seen dead in a road car splattered with ill-assorted colours which camouflage its shape. I voted Aston Martin. It's just green. Brilliant design.

Poll results shows people prefer difference over stability and if bulls got this livery for say 10th year it would be nowhere near top.

They can barely keep the same name year to year let alone livery.

It's not the stability, they are just boring. So yeah, we're only left with choosing the boring but new one.

McLaren was hailed for the orange livery when they kicked off with it. And look at them now. But that doesnt mean its a bad livery or that peoples opinions changed on it, it just means that there are others that have come around who are considered more pleasing.

I wonder what the HP logo would look like on a more horizontal white stripe across the airbox, a la the Ferrari F93A.

Mclaren's livery problem isn't that they've stayed orange, it's that they've got so much carbon fibre showing. If it was orange and white that livery would stand out a lot more.

I don't really see these white liveries like RB this year or even Martini Williams as "clean", quite the opposite- for the reason that I mentioned- too many secondary colours, which I find especially messy when contrasting against a white "base".

I liked Williams more in those races where alcohol advertising was illegal and they had to remove the red stripe- having fewer colours made it better. I wish they also didn't have black wings, that was another unnecessary colour that made things worse when you already had the white, the Martini stripe and blue sponsorship logos.

Well, I've liked VCARB livery the most. Maybe because it's new, maybe because a lot of liveries have nothing new.

Another thing to be glad about this year is that liveries are very different one from another. I remeber a couple of years ago people complaining that a lot of cars had similar liveries. At least this year, they're almost all very different between themselves, and we have much less black parts than previous years.

Completely agree. That's the most striking thing to me.

The variety just adds a little something that was missing, IMHO  :D

As an avid McLaren fan and a RedBull disliker, honestly I found Racing Bulls livery more appealing than the rest. It is not groundbreaking, but fresh compared to previous seasons. On the other hand, McLaren did very few tweaks to livery. And considering they like one-off liveries, I wonder how can design new one-offs on this base design.

Quite a lot of hate (or at least "mehhhh") to the RBR livery. And yet, they have a stable pallette, it's never eye gorging (yes, Alpine-BWT, I'm looking at you) and it's been going on for 15+ years now on cars which had great racing success.
My guess is that, after RBR will eventually pull the plug, their livery will slowly become an iconic one. Just like the Lotus gold-black, the McLaren red-white (or silver), Williams blue or - dare I say it - Ferrari red.

The Racing Bulls livery looked cool at first glance, but I agree with others it's quite basic. The shape of the 2022-2025 cars just doesn't work to be honest, because the same livery on the 2021 Red Bull looked great.

I like Williams but want to see it in sunlight, their camo livery was even better.

Alpine very cohesive. Sauber better than last year. Preferred the Mercedes with the red INEOS flourish.

That's the closest thing to a Honda livery. That's all to me.  :drunk:

I voted Alpine because, to me personally that livery stands out. They've managed to blend and incorporate the pink with their own blue in a beautiful and effective way this year imho.

Now I just saw an article on The Race where they also had Alpine as their number 1 livery and they explain well why it stands out (in their opinion, taste is in the end personal):

The new Minardi livery has a nice colour scheme. As a whole it’s not that special, Red Bull one off special in 2021 was much better.

I like the colours of Sauber, it’s a pity it has this gradient effect, Would be better with some hard edges scheme.

Mercedes is quite bad, just like last year.

Mclaren is probably the worst. They peaked with beautiful cars in 2019 and 2020. But their recent Halloween Arrows wannabe is quite awful.

The best liveries are:

- Red Bull: it’s dull and the same, but recognisable, relatively simple and appealing

-Williams: again, maybe somewhat dull,  and probably will look a bit worse on track, but a very pleasant car to look at. Very stylish. Williams in general tend to have nice liveries.

- Ferrari. really cool and bold livery. Will be viewed as a classic in 20 years time. A bit too many sponsors perhaps.

- Alpine is quite nice also. Though their first cars were the best.

Like the bikes, I think the regulations mean 'quite nice' is the best that can be hoped for. Maybe Williams? Though I'd have like wider white lines. I like the shade of blue towards the back. I think. Presenting cars on their team colours is understandable, but not ideal for actually seeing the car.

I don't think anything's as good as the LCR Honda, though.

Racing Bulls for me as well.

But the novelty factor shouldn’t be discounted. It’s just so boring that teams generally stick to the same(ish) livery year after year after year…

Also, the core colors of this year’s Ferrari are very nice (I like them in darker red and with black rather than white complementary details), but the HP logos screws it up so much that I’m considering buying shares in whoever their main competitor is.

I voted for Red Bull eventually.

It's basically 95% the same livery of the Racing Bulls, but I like the blue a lot better then white.

Also, I like the oracle font better then the visa font.

I understand it's getting a bit boring because it's the same every year, but it still looks great.

My other opinions:

Sauber: absolutely hideous. Something my 10y old son would create on Need for Speed.

Williams: not great, not terrible, but a bit more boring then last year, when they had the best livery.

Aston: I've always liked it when a sponsor gets it's own colour on an existing livery. I loved the DHL decals on the GT1 livery's during the 24h of Spa. There are other examples but can't think of any right now. Anyway, I like the white airbox. But I dislike the black sidepods. You win some, you lose some I guess.

Mercedes: as per my Aston post, I like the red ineos airbox. I do like the new livery, maybe a bit to crowded with different colours and it's so extremely cooperatively boring. Still one of the best of the year.

Racing Bulls: Basically a white Red Bull. It's new and fresh, but doesn't make me go wow like a. Lot of others. Needs more blue and a little green like the driver overalls.

Haas: A step up from last year, but still a black car with white sidepods. Boring, but not bad at all.

Ferrari: I Like the white and hp logo (remember Aston and Mercedes), so no negative points there.
But last years livery was better, and 2023 even more. Best woud me to make the white yellow, and a black HP logo. Like the 2023 monza car or the the Le Mans Ferrari's.

Alpine. Colour! Hooray! So big big bonuspoints. Let's see how it looks on TV.

McLaren: they have to make up their minds. Either make it papaya with black accents or vice versa.
Now it looks so crowded with all the orange and black patches.

The Merc without the red airbox looks much better.  The Alpine also is an improvement on last year.  I'm not sure there are any classic liveries on the grid that will be remembered fondly in the years ahead.  No doubt designed by the same creative geniuses behind the many tasteless crash helmet paintjobs. AM with a cream/ white airbox and a lot of black... just nope!  I suspect that won't stand out once again at the many night races. Ferrari isn't a livery.  A mess of sponsor logos and a very out of place white splodge.  And the McLaren is a black car with some orange wrap in a few places.  And many random sponsor logos, much like the Ferrari.  I'd say that those two are comfortably the worst.

After looking at vcarb's car on track I only wished they went for a different color on the tip of the nose. Feels like that either yellow or white would be better there. Also, the front wings should be all white.
Nonetheless, I liked it on track.

I don't understand all the fuss around the new Red Bull livery. To me, it seems quite uninteresting, besides not being new. It was already used in 2021.
